I called Dr. Schultzel’s office in early June and scheduled umbilical hernia surgery just 3 weeks out. I did everything he told me in recovery and my recovery process went smooth because of it. The laparoscopic incisions on the side of my abdomen (3) are very small already and it’s only been 5 weeks since surgery. By 12 weeks I imagine no one will be able to tell I had surgery. He was a bit fast in our follow-up appointments (one 2 weeks after surgery and another 5 weeks after) which made me feel a little in the dark about how I was recovering but other than that, it was smooth.

Dr. Schultzel was an angel from the sky! I was rushed to the ER and had to have an emergency complicated bowel obstruction and perforation surgery in the middle of the night, he was not the Dr on call but he did not hesitate to take my case dt his experience with complicated laparoscopic bowel surgeries and I am doing really well 🙏❤️ I am incredibly thankful, from the bottom of my heart, for Dr Schultzel and for his peers for all they have done for me 🙏 Words cannot express enough enough gratitude and how much I appreciate everything you have done!!! THANK YOU SOO MUCH DR SCHULTZEL 🎉

I chose Doc Schultzel due to the online reviews I had read. This was my first ever surgery and it was two hernias, so I wanted to make sure I was in good hands. He had explained what was going to happen during and after surgery and it would be a six week to fully recover. In my head, I felt that after a couple of days, I would be good to go with minor discomfort and would just need to be careful with what I did. The night of the surgery (I left the hospital about 9pm), I sat and ate dinner with my family but I was very sore and uncomfortable and needed helping even getting into the bed. The first week of recovery was a very cautious and painful time, even though I had preconceived that I would be good to walk around with in two days with mild issues, I was wrong, I could move around, but was very tender. I really never took any pain pills as they did not seem to do too much. Four weeks after, I felt very good but still had feelings of healing and approached things with caution. Almost to the day of six weeks was the last of any feeling of the surgery. He was straight forward and told me that now, just go back to normal as if there was never a problem, and so far I have not had any issues of lifting or moving and it has been 10 weeks. Highly recommend using Doctor Schultzel and highly recommend listening to his advice on recover

Dr. Schultzel repaired my bilateral inguinal hernia. He comes very highly recommended and he did not disappoint. He took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. His staff was great. He even urged me to get the overdue colonoscopy. I'm very happy with the surgery results and without hesitation would recommend him for hernia repairs.
