Beautiful garden. Really recommend here. It is possible to contact them for a guided tour.

I wish it was open more, I'd love to visit more. It sounds like it used to have more funding, but it's been almost entirely cut. It needs more love and it will be an even more beautiful place!

The UCI Arboretum is an incredible place with great plant diversity where students learn about the local ecosystems from the current Director of the site, Professor Dr. Bowler who has a great wealth of experience ans knowledge. The master gardeners of Orange County are the stewards and guardians of the African plants collection. This site also hosts a Polyculture site of native edible plants and an Aquaponics system run by students. Both proyect use community ans student volunteers on a weekly bases. Quarterly tours are offered of the Arboretum.

This arboretum is visibly underfunded by UCI, but the director of the arboretum clearly cares about the plant life here. There is a wide selection of cacti and aloe, a great place to learn about their various species. They also have a few coast Redwoods, and it's always fun seeing our state tree down south, where it doesn't grow natively. Definitely worth the trip, and you can experience the entire place in about an hour.

This facility used to be open to the public during the week. Unfortunately this is no longer true.
Not likely. It was closed down June 2019. No budget for anything.
We went after the name, and the result was disappointing because the door was closed.
