My first time trying this spot and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The tortas were well prepared and very tasty. I wouldn't mind going again when I'm in the mood for some good Latin food.

I've lived in NoDa for over 15 years and I don't know how I just discovered this restaurant...one of THE BEST MEXICAN restaurants in Charlotte. We had the tacos and quesadillas....delicious and fairly priced. This will be my go-to neighborhood restaurant from now on...check it out!

This place is amazing. I don't think I've ever been pumped on a tamale until now. Now I get their Tamale Special once a week- three tamales, rice, and beans for $8. It's perfect. The pork tamale is amazing, the cheese/jalepeno tamale is amazing, the chicken tamale is great. Sometimes I'll order like 15 tamales and bring them to feed a bunch of people. Their other menu items are all on point too. Tacos, burritos, sopas, and things I havent heard of. Don't miss out. This place is a gem.

You know you've found an authentic Mexican restaurant when the entire menu is in Spanish! We came looking for tacos, and were not disappointed. Of course, we also had to try the namesake tamales as well. They offered a 3 tamale special with rice and beans for only $8. (Tip: the red sauce is spicier than the green!) We also couldn't resist trying the "dulces" (sweet) tamales too. The pineapple had a stronger flavor than the coconut. While there, we also sampled the "huaraches"--a fried thick cornmeal patty topped with your choice of meat, lettuce, and tomato. We got carnitas, but the al pastor pork probably would have been juicier, judging from the tacos. Top it all off with a glass of refreshing cucumber, pineapple or watermelon agua fresca! The building looks a little intimidatingly rundown, but the interior (looks like a former house) is remarkably clean and the service friendly.
