We moved to Ohio recently. Fantastic experience so far but the Rumpke services. My experience with them on lifting heavy item is terrible. And when I call them, they ask standard questions on object’s size, length and weight. Does it help? Absolutely not!! I was asked to send pic on 15th day of my follow up journey with no luck! The help desk connection to operation staff is terrible. I was surprised to note that help desk can only send an email to operation staff, that’s all! Story continues…..

Constantly mixing up what recycling they will and won’t pick up. Never consistent. 3 boxes within the guidelines left on my curb this morning and they won’t come back for 24-48 business hours. The best solution is to just keep the trash on the curb until it’s convenient for them. And of course, I have no other choice for recycling services. Lucky for them. EDIT: I do not plan to draft an email detailing the issues, since I have little faith anything will change. Just wanted others to know of the terrible service received. You have guidelines, follow them or not. And pick things up that meet the guidelines. Inconsistency is not helpful for your customers. Again, I don't have a choice in curbside recycling services, so please just do better.

So I moved into an area where I have to pay for garbage… I was very unhappy after receiving my first bill. Everything was billed twice! And a fuel ‘ surcharge of 26.53 was added to my bill ( talk about nickel and diming customers) I called and was told it is ‘correct’ I asked as a consumer why would I keep this trash service when I could get Bestway trash service for 60a month?! She rudely suggested I send in a copy of the bill… I said it’s a known fact and regulated by the municipality. She gets off the line then proceeds to tell me about how there is an “early termination fee of 50.00” for garbage pick up! I said nope not paying anything except the 23.30 for the one pickup!! Shame on RUMPKE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF NEW CUSTOMERS!!!! Do not use them! Hello, I’m responding to the response to my google review. Your company has horrible business practices!! Charging people double for 3 days of trash service is bad business. Charging me for your political views on gas prices “fuel surcharge” is bad business. Charging people for cans that were bought by the landlord is bad business. Trying to charge people double for a service that costs 60.00 for 3 months including 2 cans is bad business. Having the customer service demand a bill from me for “price matching” is bad business. Trying to charge me 50.00 for “early termination of trash” is bad business. So like I said I am going to report this company to the better business beau if I am charged any more then 23.30. I am throughly disappointed with the lack of customer service and greedy bad business practices this company has. In addition to this I will be at the next municipality meeting to protest this company’s contract ( along with many other residents ) due to your bad business practices. Hopefully they will vote your “service” out of contract so you will not be able to practice your bad business anymore!!! Come and get the cans your customer service told me your company was “picking up” yesterday then threatened me with another 50.00 “trip fee” if the cans were not out on the curb. They are there so come and get them.

Customer service is complete garbage. (No pun intended) Driver missed my house last week. They were suppose to return to pick up within 24-48 hours since they missed. They never returned. I called daily and got the same story. Then trash pick up day came around again. 2 reps told me to set out any extra bags I had and since they missed last week they would pick up the cans and the extra bags. They did not. When I called customer service about it again today they said there was nothing they could do that they don’t pick up extra bags outside of the cans. I knew that, but was told to by 2 reps to do so yesterday due to the error. Then I spoke to a supervisor. She proceeded to get frustrated and kept telling me that there was nothing she could do. She put me on hold to see if she could get me a credit to drop off all my extra trash at the landfill (45min away)and the call was disconnected. I have never seen such disconnect in communication and terrible customer service. My husband and I have spoken to a different rep daily since the missed pick up and no one can get it right and every single person gave us the wrong information If I had a choice, I would never use Rumpke again but unfortunately they are the only option in Independence KY. I work with Rumpke every day as a property manager and they always have issues in Cincinnati, NKy and Louisville. This was the last straw. I WILL be shopping for other services for every one of my properties. I may not be able to choose at my home, but I will make sure Rumpke never services another one of my communities. It’s very frustrating. Buyers beware! Get it together Rumpke.
