Hurleyville Rail Trail is the most developed of the sections of the old O&W railroad in Sullivan County. It is the only stretch that is asphalt paved and suitable for roller and inline skating (the others are gravel or dirt). At this location in the middle of Hurleyville there is abundant parking, a playground and info panels. The paved trail extends about 1.5 miles southeast, but turns into a rutted dirt path closer to Fallsburg. A longer paved stretch leads northwest for about 2 miles to Denham Road before turning into an overgrown dirt path.

I walk the trail regularly, beautiful scenery and interesting local history. It's pretty well kept and all the people who walk it have always been friendly.

This is a really great walking trail, easy especially if you want to bring kids and dog with you.

You walk to o e end the. Back to where you started from.
From the West parking lot (past the gas station) to the end of the pavement at Denman Road is 2.2 miles. The unpaved part continues to Rt. 17. From the East parking (by the basketball courts and The Picked Owl) past the wetland is about two kilometers (1.24 MI.) to Westwood on pavement. All the way to South Fallsburg is over three miles.
