Came here for an orthopedic surgery on my hip area. Surgery went well. But I just had the worst stay. I was here for one overnight stay and left in the afternoon, I wish I left earlier. One major thing is that the nurses will not help you use the restroom. I used a commode at first but another nurse came in and told me to walk to the restroom. Even before surgery I used crutches. She didn’t give me my crutches she told me to use the IV pole for stability. I was supposed to only be using partial weight on my leg. The second time I asked to use the restroom (I needed to go frequently because of the IV) she told me to do it myself and left me. When you use the call button it’s always busy. I nearly wet myself several times. It’s embarrassing but the nurses are too busy to have sympathy. A few hours later I was in excruciating pain. By morning I was crying from the pain, and the new nurse seemed shocked they let me walk to the bathroom. This place is understaffed and not ready to give patients the care they deserve. I would hate to see how they treat other patients who might not be able to speak up. I wouldn’t let my parents go to this hospital.

I was having a allergic reaction and all over my stomach, and I think also maybe I was sick with food poisoning but I was sick and was wobbly and out of breath and shouldn’t have been driving (by the time I left) I felt the staff in the front was not worried about the other lady that was with her daughter saying she was going to pass out and told her to sit inside and didn’t offer emergency assistance, I finally got up and asked are you throwing patients back in the lobby? They said yes. This entire hospital should be reevaluated and restructured with better care and present for symptoms of people checking in, saving people in a actual emergency I wouldn’t trust them to save me.. I am headed to the house and was advised by family to have a ambulance attend to me. But I think this was a awful experience I felt like crying and I was in serious pain and even wrote on the paper checkin* 1-10 pain level was 8.5, having a allergic reaction with stomach hives and even possible food poisoning is not fun I can’t diagnose myself but it turned into a night mare… good job east bay very humane

The employees, nurses, and techs are really kind and truly wonderful. But this hospital has one of the most incompetent doctors and lacks tools for those who are physically impaired. I broke my leg and was taken to the emergency room; while the nurses were all attentive and helpful, the doctors make everything brief and don't really explain what the problem is. In fact, I only just learned my knee was both broken and displaced through my primary doctor. The hospital discharged me when I couldn't walk and didn't offer me a wheel chair and told me to get an MRI and see an orthopedic surgeon. My primary doctor says this is completely unusual when they could've just put me in a room and allowed for the surgeon to meet with me right there and provided me with an MRI

I went to visit someone and the care for him was a joke. Since he is on social security they just wanted to get him out of there as fast as they could. He is elderly and has nobody to take care of him. They were supposed to call me when they took him back home. Well they didn't because they knew if I was there I never would have allowed them to take him home. He was still in bad shape with a catheter in him and no way to take care of himself. What they did was inexcusable and I believe borders on malpractice.

Ask the nurse
No, there's one at Herrick Campus also in Berkeley
Don't focus on COVID 19 and you forget why patients are coming for !
Depends which unit, I believe. For example, you may be able to visit a spouse who just gave birth. Can ask to speak to the inpatient's nurse or charge nurse for more information.
Yes, they are very friendly. I was born there, and go there
I heard around 2030.
You should call human resources of the hospital that'll be my first call and they should guide you from that point
