What a pleasant surprise we explored Prescott Park for the first time. We parked in the first parking lot, and walked up the road to the second where we found an asphalt path. We followed till it ended following down back to the roadway exactly where we parked our car. Perfect little hike for us.

Super nice place for day hikers and mountain bikes. There are a lot of people but tons of great views of the whole Rogue Valley. Highly recommend this area, trails range from easy to moderate. Grassy areas to wooded areas and everything in between.

I just moved to the area and I'm trying to learn the trails here. What a great training hike...with lots of maps and info available to help get me started....along with lots of others to greet while enjoying the views!

It's so great having this park so close! Hiking trails are fun and pretty kid friendly. Biking is fun. There are a few good lookout places for pretty views of the valley. There are some picnic tables just a short walk up from the upper parking lot, if you want to do a quick scenic view lunch. There is a lot of poison oak all up the butte, so stay on the trails.

Also pay attention to the times posted about closure. If you park at the top and they close the gate at the bottom, you will have to call the police to have someone let you out, and that may include a fine.

Is the road closed tomorrow Saturday? Was closed this morning 6/22. You would think it would be posted on the site.

You might run into one occasionally, but they're almost always harmless. Just keep your eyes open and if you see one, give it its space.
