One of the better food banks in Alameda county. Great staff and location. My only complaint would be that they often run out of items for people who can only make an appointment later in the day. I feel like they could improve on that but overall a great resource for the community in need of the help.

Provides essential service to the community Staff is very helpful and almost entirely volunteer. Process for donors and recipients is well organized and virtually contactless. If you are picking up, be sure to enter Alameda Point from the gate on Main Street and follow the left side of the mall where the line queues up. Bring your driver's license or state Identity card which is used to insure you are not picking up more than once per week.

The Alameda Food Bank provides food to families who live, work or go to school in the City of Alameda. We are open Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 11:30-4pm. If you are in need of food but don't qualify for food at the Alameda Food Bank you should contact the Alameda County Community Food Bank or the Emergency Food Helpline to find a food bank that you qualify for.

Tuesday is the day that the Farmers @ the local farmers market, give away what they haven't sold & it's the day that trader Joe's drops off baked goods, salds, suaces, cheese etc that has only have a few days left of shelf life. The third Tuesday is the best because there's no line. Plp usually come the 1st /last week because food stamps/benefits last just so long b4 u need some more food.

The days and hours that the Thau Way food pantry is open are: MWF 1p-4p 2nd, 3rd, 4th Sat 11a-1p. (closed the 1st Sat of the month).
