Ordered 5 items across the menu to get a good feel for Chuar. Was very let down across the board. Fried pork wontons were the best item we ordered and that was more due to the sauce tasting good than the actual wontons. Sesame cold noodles I had to use a knife to taste because the noodles were one big blob that would not come apart. The noodles had no peanut or lime flavor and were more salty than anything. Beef stew rice noodles had three tiny pieces of beef with one chunk of bok choy. Plenty of correctly cooked noodles with zero flavor. Beef with mixed vegetables and mushrooms was ok. It was mostly onions and peppers that were raw with no signs of being cooked. If the onions and peppers had at least a slight sear this dish would have been good but big chunks of raw white onion is not my thing. Last was the pork belly chuar and what I wanted to try the most since I am a big fan of pork belly. Basically it was fried pork belly and some green onions. I expected something better or at least with their own twist on pork belly. The food here is not cheap and I really expecting a lot more.

First had Chuar at the beginning of the pandemic for take out. We kept saying we would go back and sit down and try new things. We finally did and it was amazing. Great service, she was patient with us asking questions and would recommend items for us if one was not available. Wish there was some seasonings on the table but I get it with covid and what not. We had leftovers and ordered some stuff to take home. All the food we got was amazing, even their American Chinese item we got to take home. Most expensive thing we got was the duck that was about 18$ but it was worth it! If you are thinking about trying them, just go do it.

Good food, nice environment, friendly owner. I really like the purpose of this restaurant. I hope others can appreciate the hard work and authenticity that this place has to offer. Even though they prefer you try authentic Chinese food, they do have "American" Chinese food for those who are more hesitant and are fine with how current Chinese food in America taste like.

This place is THE BEST for authentic Asian cuisine! Not a single place comes even close in Salisbury. The Xialong Boa is AMAZING, almost like soup filled dumplings with a vinegar based dipping sauce. The fried pork dumplings are great, and the shredded beef with hot peppers is my favorite. I plan on trying many more dishes including the Cumin Spare Ribs and hot pot. If you have never had authentic Asian food, I would suggest eating in and having your server describe the options. I want to find out if any of their dishes use Szechuan Peppercorns because I always wanted to try a dish with them. Thank you for bringing such amazing food to the Eastern Shore!
