Seems like a popular spot to dine with the convenient adjacent parking lot. The grounds are well maintained and friendly people all around. Reservations are taken upon entry, and you have a choice of indoor or outdoor dining, a text message is sent to your mobile when your table is ready. We were seated comfortably by a window. Love the whimsical color lighting and decor. We ordered the guacamole as an appetizer to share (4 scoops), and it was fresh. I decided on the blackened Cajun chicken with 2 sides, black-beans and Jose’s rice. The marmalade-like special sauce complimented the cajon chicken nicely. My Husband’s order: chicken and beef Enchiladas on a bed of melted cheese, black-beans, Jose’s rice And grilled avocado with mango salsa (for both of us), all very tasty. The unlimited chips and Salsa were a bonus We were served relatively at a good pace considering the wait time to get in and how crowded it was. Our server, Emilia was great, her recommendations were excellent, her sunny personality brightened up the atmosphere. It’s rare to find a place where you have all three; service, food and atmosphere so well balanced. It was such a fun experience that I saved it to my restaurant folder :)

Hyped place, that’s all. I lived in New Jersey for 4 years and used to be a big fan of this, since I am visiting Jersey after 2 years, I wanted to go here with my wife to have her try their food. Honestly I now realize difference between Mexican food here and in California, can’t compare. The food is okayish, it’s like you are eating cheese, beans and rice, not much for vegetarians to try out. Also, the prices have gone up and it’s no longer a place with $ sign but rather $$, not coming back.

What a fantastic evening my wife and I had! The skirt steak with the secret sauce (I forgot the name... I remember the word Bowie in the dish name) was the best meal I've had a restaurant ever. It came with a side of shoestring fries that were great (better than regular fries that are usually "just there") and a grilled avocado with mango salsa on top. Amelia, our server, was *excellent*, and her recommendation to get the secret sauce on the side was wonderful advice. Jose Tejas never disappoints, and this time it was above and beyond!

If I could give this place 10 stars , I would. We came in on a Monday afternoon and the place was packed for a reason. Everything we ordered had so much flavor. There was nothing we did not like. You get a lot for your buck. Our customer service was top notch as well.

It's never a good time, best of luck
I agree with Chastity.. good safety practicing with separation of tables and adding the polyethylene walls between tables.. and let's not forget the great food.!
Jose tejas has great prices which makes it perfect for a family outing. On top of the ambiance.
I don't think so. Usually with Cajun or Mexican food that at least a little spicy it's not.
