Took my hardtail MTB for a 20 mile ride from Naugatuck to Southbury then back. Had to carry it over rough incline/decline twice. Great trail, cool in summer. Saw lots of walkers, joggers, dog walkers, and cyclists.

10 mile bridleway, cycling, walking. Linear. Passes lakes, swamps, Preserve off to the south. Easy to miss. Path leads uphill. Gravel. Some slopes to roads where Bridge removed. One section dismount due to rocks. Could have larger gravel to help cycling. Signposted parking off road to Naugatuk . Car park at other end. Trail continues past that parking lot for....3/4 mile?

It's for the most part very level and not rough so it is great for casual walkers and bike riders as well. It is very scenic at parts depending on the season. I am not sure long it is but it is long enough to easily walk pretty much as long as you want. One of my favorite parts is where it divides a marsh in Oxford. I recommend it for hikers as well as there are some paths that break off of it at different points if you like to explore.

Gorgeous and well maintained trail for horses and non-motorized recreation.
