This is one of my very favorite places to walk! It would be a 5+ star if the trail itself was better maintained. I love walking along the river. I so enjoy the opportunity to see Great Blue Herons, ducks, fish jumping, eagles, song birds, and turtles galore!! I will definitely be back soon.

Nice to see this place during spring when the plants and flowers are blooming and growing back. The atmosphere personally was a little scary especially since the trail's paved area was a little thin and you're surrounded by water on both sides. You're also greeted by a drawbridge that has what seems like frayed rope and a missing child poster which sets the tone a little gloomy for an afternoon walk, but as long as you stay safe then it's a really nice walk in nature with a beautiful breeze and good scenery. There are benches here if you'd like to sit and just take in the sights.

This is a nice place to walk or bike through! There's a riverside trail surrounded by water on both sides that has great views! It's a good place to go to be surrounded by sounds of nature.

Very nice area with 4 mile paved fairly flat walkway with beautiful fragrant trees & flowers. Clean portable toilet stalls at beginning of the walk near ample parking area. Rolling river canal on one side & smaller river on the other. Several benches to sit on & a few steep hilly places to fish. We saw & heard many birds & also saw a beaver, ducks with ducklings, geese with goslings & two different heron. Amazing that it was hand dug so many years ago. It was a wonderful hike with other friendly hikers & bicyclists along the way. Wheelchair & stroller access. Great place.

Yes
When might trail be open again . probably the day before it closes for the year. Ridiculous!
Depend on the eagles nesting if there will be laying eggs or not. Normally open about April-Oct. The construction or eagle may delay it. Suffield side normally opens mid April regardless
