This is going to be a long review, but worth the read so hang in there. Ok so here it goes, to make a very long story as short as possible.. My husband and I got married this fall and shortly after we were told we would not see a single photograph from our wedding for 7-11 months. As you can imagine this was a bit heartbreaking. I tried my best to come up with a solution so we had something to give our families for a thank you card. My idea was to find a Christmas tree farm nearby, ask a photographer friend and see what type of magic we could create. This idea lead me to Balsam Ridge Tree Farm who I gave this shortened story to, and they immediately responded with YES! You are welcome to come take pictures! You can’t imagine the relief I felt getting this message- what a kind thing to offer to a couple they don’t even know! So my husband and I threw on our Wedding Attire and showed up to this absolutely beautiful farm. We were warmly greeted by the owner who offered his entire property to us for pictures. I mean could this man be any sweeter? We spent hours taking pictures and I could not be happier we found a special place for our photos. If you are still reading, congratulations you made it to the end of my story. Yes, this review may be a little different because we didn’t chop down our Christmas tree that day, but the point is, this small family owned business is extremely generous and I couldn’t think of a better place to go to get a Christmas Tree. Support wonderful caring businesses that give back such as Balsam Ridge Tree Farm. We cannot wait to move into our home and buy our Christmas Tree from this family next year. πŸŽ„

We ended up buying a tree that was precut from Vermont instead of cutting down our own because the precut trees were perfect. Very friendly staff/owner. We went early in the day and it was not that crowded, would recommend.

Last year we went there for the first time ever with our young 7 year old son. It was the best Christmas tree farm I ever been to at the time. Only about four other people there ( on Sunday too ) and the place was loaded with awesome trees. We went back this year and it was mobbed with people and there was hardly any trees to buy! The place was cleaned out with only very few scrawny trees left. We drove 1.5 hours so we decided just grab whatever was left and paid the $12 per foot for $84 tree. We were extremely disappointed. The owner was very friendly as said because of the corona virus he had 5x more people coming since the week before Thanksgiving. I’ll never go back ever again. It went from the best to the worst in just a year. Owners and staff were very friendly though I give them that.

This is absolutely a great place to find a tree in the Hudson Valley! We were warmly greeted by staff, offered help if we needed, and given many suggestions since they've got several different tree options. They made myself and my fiance's experience of getting our first tree together such a good memory. We had some help cutting and transporting the tree to the wrapping area totally for free. They do offer saws for those who do want to cut their own trees, too. We made sure to throw the hard working staff a tip for giving us such good service. We will definitely be back! Oh, and they also give away hot cocoa for free to customers by the cashier! Nice touch πŸ‘Œ
