My friend and I decided to try this restaurant because of its location and reviews. We weren't impressed. Upon being seated the first thing we couldn't help but comment to each other on was how loud the music was. We could barely hear each other. (Someone later turned in an additional radio, just as loud, on the other side of the restaurant making it even worse) We were given complimentary chips and salsa, which we could've used a small plate for each of us to eat from instead of balancing the salsa from bowl to mouth. The menu has an astronomical variety which could be cut considerably and still offer a huge selection. My friend decided to try the black bean soup, and I picked lunch special #6 a beef enchilada with tomato, lettuce cheese and sour cream. I also ordered a side of Pico and Refried Beans which came topped with melted cheese. We both chose water to drink. The food was ok, but we found all dishes to be very bland in flavor. Portion size was good, we both had food left over and prices were reasonable. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Overall we probably won't be returning though because of the music and lack-luster flavor of the food.

I have been coming to El Charro for the past 5 years and have always raved about how it's the best Mexican restaurant in the capital region, however my experience tonight was quite different from my experiences in the past. I've always ordered the hot salsa on the side and it seems that they changed the recipe, however I've never been charged extra for the salsa but this time they added it to the bill? It was an extra $2, which I don't mind paying, however the inconsistency is very inconvenient. The service was typical and the meal itself was good, however what really upset my group was what happened after we got the bill. I was catching up with my friends for dinner today and we were chatting for another 30 minutes after our bill came. At around 8:30 pm about four of the staff members surrounded our table and were staring at us very annoyed with the fact that we were still there and motioning for us to get up. My group immediately got up and left, however the whole encounter was incredibly rude. Not once were we asked to leave, or politely told it was almost closing time. Mind you, this was at 8:30 and the restaurant closes at 9. There were other tables with groups of more than 5 throughout the entire restaurant, but we were shooed away. I don't think I've ever been treated that way at a restaurant before, but it was honestly incredibly rude. Had the servers asked us to get up we would've immediately understood and left, however they circled our table and just grimaced without saying a word. I expected better from this establishment after years of being a loyal costumer, the whole thing was ridiculous.

Best Mexican food I ever had omg 😋. I had the “Vallarta” ( Grilled marinated shrimp, Chicken and scallops cooked in a special sauce with onions, tomatoes, pineapple, mushrooms and red, yellow and green peppers. Served with Mexican white rice, fresh pick de gallo salad and sour cream. We also had the nacho chips with the chorizo dip 😋 you will thank me later!

It might be. Flavor is good, although is not spicy as it should I think.
Same as most places. Who knows what.goes on in the kitchen. Don't see anyone cleaning tables or counters
For Mexican food.. 🤔 i would say they are reasonably priced comparative to other similar restaurants in the area.
