To start off, this is my first public review ever. I’ve always given places the benefit of the doubt considering I work in an industry where the reviews are valuable to the business. However, I could not be silent about something as serious as what I had experience. I went to Beverly hospital ER with recommendations that it was the best, because I had a terrible fall hitting my head with a possible concussion. I walked into the ER around 11:45PM and it was empty. I was ecstatic that I may get the help I needed urgently. However, it took 2 hours JUST to speak to a doctor. The doctor recommended a CT scan which I agreed upon. I did receive the CT scan within 30 minutes (which I was happy about) yet, it took another 3 HOURS to get my results back. This was my first concussion ever, I was severely tired, distraught, dizzy, nauseous, and overwhelmed. As I was awaiting my results for my CT scan, there were 2 individuals who walked in after me and were taken care of immediately. I was exhausted and just wanted a final answer. It got to the point where my significant other (who was with me) had to remind them we were still there; they then proceeded to tell him “we’ll call right now to get an update” next thing you know, we got no update and my significant other and I fell asleep in the waiting room. At this point it’s been 6 hours. I was unclear of what was going on, I felt abandoned, I felt as if my injury was not serious to them. Why? I was in serious pain, and confused. I will never see myself visiting Beverly hospital again.

I’m shocked and saddened by my treatment at Beverly Hospital. I would not go back or send loved ones there. After many years of trusting the competence and general level of care, my son was born there! The way I was treated last night, was so different then the Beverly Hospital I knew and loved seventeen years ago.

I was dropped off at Beverly hospital ER under doctor's advice due to uncontrollable pain and weekness on left neck, shoulder, back, arm and leg.waited 4 hours. During this time I asked for a pillow three times. After the 3rd time a nurse whipped a pillow into my left arm. Upon waiting 4 hours a man pulled me aside and told me that everyone ahead of me were already seen and that they were seeing new patients just walking in. So, I asked the nurse why. She told me there were a lot more people sicker than I and to go back and sit down. She said that the entire 4 hours I was there all I did was cause problems. I told the nurse my leg and neck were worse and that I needed a wheelchair. She refused to give me one and said "you walked in without a wheelchair you can leave without one. I told her I did not feel safe walking and asked 2 more times for a wheelchair and was denied all times. I was so upset that I called my husband to come pick me up. I ended up at Brigham and Women's hospital ER department. The first thing they asked me was if I needed a wheelchair which I acknowledged yes to. Brigham and Women's hospital ended up admitting me in house for 6 days. By this point I was bed bound during the entire stay due to pain and not being able to walk without help. After 6 days in Brigham and Women's hospital I was discharged with services such as home health care assistance, home PT, and had several appointments lined up to see specialist. I've been home now for 4 days and can not walk safely so I must use a crutch. I am appalled at the way the Beverly hospital ER department nurses treated me. If I had been given a wheelchair and checked in appropriately to be evaluated I may not have lost my ability to walk and would probably not have had to endure a six day hospital stay at Brigham and Women's. As of right now I have a long road ahead of me before I recover.

I set up with the doctor ahead of time my more delicate needs due to medications. Now no sleep medication and the nurse said it wasn’t set up. In the interim the wait for pain medication did not keep me Ahead of the pain and now I can not move or barely take a deep breath and that doesn’t seem to matter. Beverly hospital charges 1,200 for a one night stay which expectations dictated would be a good night. This wasn’t it. I fully plan to request a refund of that portion of my payment

I don't drive and I have heard nothing but good things about Beverly hospital, I just had my left eye operated on at mass eye and ear and then they stuck me in mgh for 48 hours in the emergency room and didn't tell me anything about what was going on! I had lost eye sight in my left eye and was scared to death! So I left and now I'm supposed to get it looked at again, every time I think I have done the right thing and enquired about a good eye doctor at the right place, I end up hearing different! I wish someone would just tell me who I can see after having the scariest thing ever done to my eye
