Miles and miles of open level paths. I hike, bike on various trails quite a bit and sometimes it's nice to just have a place that provides an easy , casual environment. I'm not a fan of the paving project that took place in some sections of the path because I enjoy getting off the asphalt and concrete of my work day and want the feeling of soil , grass or gravel underfoot. I can understand and appreciate they were looking to improve accessibility though and I will begrudgingly admit they have done that. This multi use area also has some underated fishing.

Very good location to park and access the Canalway Trail. Nice multi-purpose trail, portions are paved and others are crushed gravel. The trail crosses some roads, but pedestrian crossing signs are posted and drivers were very courteous.

Newly renovated parking area along the Erie Canal Trail. We come here to walk along the Erie Canal and see many people biking and jogging along this Trail. It's a really nice area for a walk on a nice afternoon. I've also seen a lot of people fishing here although I've never seen anybody catch a fish. We also see a lot of wildlife whenever we walk along this Trail.

Standard state wide restrictions are in place. The canal holds Large mouth bass, panfish, pickerel. Bullhead, and carp. However I wouldn't eat anything out of it as it is heavely polluted.

Can you camp here at all
