We have used Midnight exclusively since we moved here 10 years ago. The lady on the phone is always pleasant and cheerful, they do their best to get the oil to you as fast as possible, and their price is competitive.

I rent a house from an out-of-state property management (PM) company. I’ve never had oil in my previous houses, so I am new to the whole process. I had already set up an account with Midnight Oil prior to needing any oil as it was a stipulation with the PM company, and when we moved in there was already a half tank of oil. I heard great things about Midnight Oil and when I set up my account they were very pleasant. Fast forward about 6 months and we completely ran out of oil earlier this week. I immediately contacted Midnight Oil, set up the delivery for the next day, all set! The delivery man calls me and says my tank is tipping and it’s unsafe to add any oil (mind you this is day 3 of no heat). I am distraught because I don’t know anything about this and the PM company isn’t the quickest when it comes to repairs because of their process for doing maintenance. I cried to the delivery man and asked if he could even just put a little in it to get us through the next couple nights while I straighten everything out with my PM company to repair the tank. It was obvious he felt bad, he said he didn’t have the necessary tools to get the tank upright, so that putting oil in it wouldn’t be a liability. So, over the next two nights my PM company brought us some temporary heaters for the living quarters, and sent someone to straighten out the legs on the tank (which is fairly new and seemed to just be installed incorrectly). I called last night and left a message letting Midnight Oil know that the tank was being repaired and asking when I could get the next delivery out here.. no return call. So, when I called again this morning and after explaining everything, I was told that they would NOT be putting oil in my tank unless it was new. I explained that the tank is newer and it seemed to be an installation issue and that it had been repaired and I even offered to send her pictures so they didn’t have to drive all the way back out here for nothing. She proceeded to argue with me that the tank wasn’t new, per her delivery guy.. that was here telling me if he had the tools to repair it or straighten it out he would have. I again explained that even the guys who did come to repair it last night said it was a new tank. She again said she would not be delivering oil to my residence without a new tank. (Now on our 5th day with no oil heat and we had a night of snow followed by a night of frost.) The fact that she wouldn’t hear me out or even take a look at the photos of the tank really says something about the customer service. I hung up on her, as I’m not going to be belittled and be talked to like I’m an idiot or a child. We’re cold, we did what needed to be done to the tank to get oil in it. I have children in my home, temporary heaters only offer so much heat and we are rotating them around the house as we need heat in the bedrooms at night and in the common areas during the day. I’m going to make an assumption that this is a great company for the customers that have been using them for some time, as for new customers.. yea, good luck!

We have lived in this area for a very long time. We have ALWAYS used Midnight Oil for our needs. They are always at our home when they say they will be and they offer a competing price. I notice that those who get it for free are complaining about the price. Isn't that convenient... man, wish I got it for free and had the luxury of complaining about a price I am not paying! Most people have to wait for oil to be delivered. That is a fact of life in the area we live in. There is no excuse for an 'emergency' delivery of free heap. Clearly you can't take care of business. If you have a home that is heated by oil and you need to get heap to purchase that oil as many people do, it is your job to INSURE that your are not so low you risk running out before that benefit comes in. The truth is, the emergency benefit is more than the regular benefit so many people just let it run out on purpose so they get that extra and larger benefit and then complain when it is not there instantly because they let it run out to get more free oil. Pathetic. I see a lot people slamming this company here and giving them bad reviews. You know those who pay for it are very happy with their service. They do a good job and have always been reliable! We are not related to them, do not know them personally, and are just customers who have benefited from their good service for a long time! When my children were little there were times we got Heap from Midnight Oil, we NEVER had an issue but getting something for free and then having the nerve to complain about it is about the lowest form of life I can think of. I am thankful to the tax payers who provided us with oil during the times in our life when we needed a hand. <3 I appreciate that Midnight Oil participated in that program and helped us! They did not have to participate. Thank for doing this service! The office people have always been kind when dealing with us. If we did not get an answer, we left a message and always received a timely call back. Thank you! James Walter and Billie Jo Lear

Very unsatisfied with their service. I applied for emergency heap on Monday and was told by my worker to call and set up a delivery time when I got home from my appointment. The woman that answered rudely told me she had nothing from my worker and that she doesn't call and set up an appointment and that she has 7 days to set up a delivery. So much for emergency heap! When finally delivered on Thursday, I was charged $0.18 more a gallon than a regular customer. Their excuse was that they don't get paid from heap right away. So they just make up a price? You are giving me kerosene now and you should charge what you are charging now. Are you going to reimburse me if the price is less when heap comes in?? I doubt it. I call this taking advantage of the system!!
