This park has grown on me, since my son loves to come here to ride his scooter and watch the Metro North trains pass by. There’s always plenty of space to hang out in the grass, great paths for hiking/running, and they’ve made some nice changes to the waterfront area by the dock. There is an open soccer field (no nets), baseball fields and a playground…and plenty of space to bbq/chill.

Great park to visit at the beginning of November to see fall colors. On the plus side it is the last natural forest with salt marsh preserved in Manhattan and easy to get to from the metro stop. On the minus side it is in Manhattan so you may hear city noise and sometimes sport games going on which break illusions n if being in forrest ... Trails are very easy to walk and very well maintained.

I thought of visiting after watching a movie at 34th since this is quite a borough away from Queens, it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful and quiet park. Lots of landmarks which was fun to check out while on trail. Must visit.

Plenty of trails for bike riding, hiking and exploring the more naturistic side of New York City. Basketball courts, 5 baseball fields, 8 handball courts, 2 playgrounds. Next to Columbia university stadium.

I have seen people fish there. Just find the trail and have fun. Clean up after yourself.
Yes... this park closes at night
No grills but u can bring in everything else u need for a picnic. Its a really lovely park!
It's pretty safe, there are cops watching!
Spring time. There are alot of young kids playing basketball and baseball. You can sit on the bench or the bleachers and watch the games. You can walk towards the Hudson River as well and enjoy a soothing time watching the water glisten and the children play in the field. There are people who exercise and people who walk their dogs around also. Only a few like to enjoy nature and take in the light graze of the sweet spring sun.
Havent noticed any grills ,back in the day yes! But my answer to your question is no.
Oh okay thank you
