My family and I came to the Long Beach Convention Center for the 5th annual Midsummer Scream. This is an annual halloween convention put on by Rick West and his amazing team of White Bats. This event continues to grow and I feel like it has outgrown this venue. There were so many people that it was very challenging to walk around with a stroller. There were a lot of people 2 years ago, but it was manageable and stress free to walk around without feeling claustrophobic at times. This year's experience was frustrating. My guess is there was over 50,000 people there and for the big panels, tons of people would rush upstairs and overload the 3rd floor balcony, it felt unsafe and very, very claustrophobic to be up there waiting for the mainstage panels. There was no outside food allowed. This venue has about 5 or 6 food vendors and with thr amount of people there, it took about 30-45min each time to get food. There are a good amount of restrooms at this venue, bit there was one women's restroom out of order in a prime location and that added to the challenges. There is only 1 guest elevator to go between the 3 floors. This elevator holds about 6 people and 2 strollers comfortably so it's NOT a large elevator. Waiting for the elevator took up to 15 minutes at times. This was not a handicapped/ stroller friendly venue at all. Worst of all, this venue does not offer any supports for babies/new parents. There is no dedicated nursing area. There are no changing tables in the men's or the women's restrooms. We had to change our baby on the floor multiple times in a venue that was overly crowded. Midsummer Scream is an amazing event, but this venue is now too small.

Parking is fairly easy to find if you get there when an event opens. The bathrooms need more regular cleaning. There was 1 day where the soap only worked in 1 pump within the restroom. If you come here for a convention prepare to wait in a long line if you have a regular ticket... maybe over an hour. Also bring an umbrella because you will be in straight sun. The venue itself is easy to navigate through and there is plenty of food across the street if you need further choices for cheaper (paid like 30 bucks for 2 muffins and 2 coffees).

Nice venue as convention centers go. But, the parking situation leaves a lot to be desired as well as the elevator situation. I mean with a place this large how could there only be two elevators from the main convention floor to the upper exit level?? And then outside again only two elevators to the parking levels!?? Seriously?? This strikes me as hazardous. Just saying.

The Long Beach Convention Center is a very nice complex for even a very large with multiple meeting rooms. Everything is on two floors along Pine Ave.

I'm not sure, they advertised for ourMid Summer Scream a lot.
All indoor facilities are smoke free in California. But, there are designated areas outside for smoking.
Yes but rude security will give you the third degree if you ask to use the elevator by the terrace theater. I shouldn't have to explain my disability in order to be allowed to use an elevator. Having security asked you why you need to use the elevator violate title 7 and what expertise does a minimum wage badge holding ghetto girl with a dreadlock wig have in determining who should be using the elevator and who should not. Handicapped people who want to keep their disability private, please go somewhere else.
Go to their website. . Depends on the type of job you want Security jobs are thru 3rd party
simple,plain, folding - type seats; & Yes...♿ handicap accomadations
1 to 5
When I went 2 weeks ago, you had to show proof of vaccination or test within 24 hrs. They had testing onsite, but it cost $35. Again, this was 2 weeks ago so maybe that has all changed now.
I believe parking is only allowed for 24 hrs
It helps if you make an appointment through the myturn.gov website. They do accept some walk ups, but I don't know what information they require you bring for that. If you are qualified due to your age make sure to have your ID card, if you are qualified due to your job, be sure to bring your most current pay stub.
An hour before atleast
That would strictly depend on who's running the show and what they wish to charge. I was at a different kind of convention and I think it only ran $500
It's best if you make arrangements through your event organizers rather than The Convention Center as they are most often only rented by various events & not operated by the venue. Good luck with your surgery.
Depends on the event, but there usually is an admission fee.
Hyatt hotel is next door on pine and shoreline. Westin is on ocean and pine. There is also motels in the immediate area.
No longer term parking. Far from Cruise ship Cruise ship parking has long term parking
No, they're individual seats and rows
What is there capacity?
If it were me I would get there 15-20 minutes early
Very colorful, beautiful music, acrobatics, $120 for balcony. 2 year old would enjoy!
www.longbeachconventioncenter.com hopefully their website will help you along the way!!!
Not sure either. Sorry.
What...try their website, subscribe to their social media accounts and it will tell you.
I'm pretty sure those events are over. It was every 3rd Thursday ending in September. Probably pick back up again in April or May.
There is on the top two levels, first floor is paid.
There is a really small parking lot right across the convention center and across the street from California Pizza Kitchen and it's only $9 a day
That depends where your going in long beach, okay if your going to the beach they have paid parking in parking lots they range from 1.00 to 5.00 I beleive, if parking in the downtown areas it a metered parking .25 for 15min to 30min on avg. But most beaches have parking lots and structures also.
