Adopting my dog last summer was truly the best decision I could have made. However, he got Parvovirus shortly after I brought him home. Initially, I was assured that Composer Goldens would pay for his emergency care. It took about 4 months to have them cover 20% of the costs ($1,000 of a $5,000 bill). They stated that they were following up with he vaccination company and only told me 6 months after the fact that they gave up on that path. The lack of transparency was frustrating. At purchase, it was stated that if your dog succumbs to a disease that they are vaccinated for, that you are entitled to a new dog. However, there is nothing mentioned that if you have extensive medical bills to save your beloved dog, that they will issue a refund. Dogs are not replaceable and it was never a thought to return him. At the very least, Composer Goldens could have issued a full refund of the initial cost of him which would have still been less than the medical bills I incurred.
