I was pleasantly surprised! Seemed very casual upon entry (you order at the counter, food is brought to you) but the food spoke volumes! Wide selection of seafood, tasty complimentary sides, good drink pairings. I was a little overwhelmed and wasn't sure what I wanted so I asked for recommendations. Employee helped me narrow it to the Icelandic Wolfish, which was a fabulous choice! Cooked and seasoned amazingly well, the natural buttery taste was like none-other! The catfish was also very good! I look forward to visiting again!

Had an outstanding meal with my good friends. The lobster bisque is very tasty, the calamari done perfectly. To my delight they had soft shell crab which were delicious. Had clams on half shell!

I have been eating at hayes for years. I have never had a bad meal there. Fish is the freshest in buffalo, you walk in and there is no fish smell even though their market is steps away from where you enter. Some of the specialty fish is a little expensive, but you need to remember this is high quality fresh fish. They also have breaded and broiled haddock fish fries for a fantastic price. Fries also great. Looking to crab, clams, mussels, tuna, chicken fingers, soups, steaks, or salads? Yep they have all that too. Just look to buy some fish at the fish market and cook it your self? They have a wide selection and they tell you where every shipment comes from. I don't know anywhere else in buffalo that can do that. You don't know good fish until have ate at Hayes, its worth the drive from anywhere in buffalo.
