Loco Joe’s has a very friendly atmosphere to shop in. He is very knowledgeable about trains. His store stock is somewhat limited, but he can get most any item someone is looking for at reasonable prices. I very much enjoyed chatting with him and found a PRR tank car for my layout. It’s worth the trip.

I recently moved to WV, and it’s great to have such a nice, well stocked hobby shop nearby. Prices are fair, and he has several items I have not been able to locate elsewhere, such as Alclad paint and Solvaset. The owner is very helpful, and provided me with some information on where to contact people involved in plastic modeling and airbrushing in the area. I will definitely be going back in the future for additional paint and kits.

I’ve been model-railroading since, well, since I discovered it in 1993, as a high schooler. Truly, I’ve been doing it since I could do it “right” meaning when I could afford the manufacturer ‘s components, which means since 2010. Something about the insanely small details and planning. The bringing to life the smallest details in that process that draws me to the process. If you love modeling, you know what I mean. It’s an addiction that can’t be or should be curbed. But, like all planning, you need experts to assist along the way. Your joy needs someone not to make your joy a money-wasting-drain. Seriously, who wants bins full of kits, accessories, or components that can’t be used or are not compatible. Or a wife asking why you have so many bins of such things collecting dust in the basement? Well, these guys remove that last part. No messing around. No up-sales. No, you should buy this-or-that. Guys that love the trade. Guys that have built all the comments within the trade extensively. Joe knows his stuff. (Even let me in early one day.) Brandon knows his stuff. Both have told me not to buy certain things from Loco Joe’s and take different more appropriate routes on my designs. Joe even told me once to go to Lowe’s and buy glue. Because it was the same product, but at a lower price. These guys care about the end result. Making sure you continue to love the hobby. Because that’s what matters to them as well. It’s not a money grab. Like many hobby shops. Without a doubt, the best hobby shop I’ve visited. And I’ve hit many of them. Can’t say enough good about Loco Joe’s.

Top notch service, answered all my questions with knowledge and a genuine friendliness. Prices, shoot, I wish I could keep this place a secret, that how good the deals are. A great little shop, great atmosphere, friendly folks, staff and customers alike, I took the drive from Richmond VA, and I can say without a doubt I'll beaking the trek again.
