We stayed in site 2 which was decently well shaded but still had views of the Bay from our tent (pictured). Enough flat space for two large tents at least. Water was out but they supplied a full five gallon jug. Site 3 was a bit more exposed but had views of downtown SF. We were able to get our jogging stroller all the way there without a problem. Had a great time.

There used to be plenty of shade. The only part of the island that is still forested is the part that faces Tiburon. The rest was clear cut of all its eucalyptus trees that did a wonderful job of providing shade and breaking the wind that blows 24/7 because eucalyptus was not native to the island. If you notice you will see the liberals in Tiburon who ordered the trees cut preserved only the trees in their view of the island. It is amazing to look at and so classic liberal.

Site #3. NO flat ground, no shade. ONLY the picnic table is on flat ground. Site #3 does have a nice view though. Site #1 or Site #2 are very nice. There is water from a faucet but it smells like "hose water". There is also an outhouse. The TP is nice.

Really nice, private sites, but raccoon lockers desperately need to be updated. They can easily break in. Bring a bear canister or some other extra method to protect your food.

It’s about 1.5 miles and quite hilly. Our friends who had a cooler full of beer and ice weren’t having a good day.
