The full moon float on Tomales Bay was a bucket list trip for us and it absolutely lived up to the hype! We’re huge nature nerds which meshed well our incredibly intelligent guide, Jeff. He is every bit an expert on the area, the ecosystem, and having fun in such a wild place. Mixed with near perfect conditions and wildlife, I don’t think it could’ve been more a dream come true. Thanks Jeff and thanks Blue Waters Kayaking! We’ll be back for sure!

I've rented from here previously, and had nothing but positive experiences with their staff. They made sure I had all the information needed before going out into Tomales Bay. They were helpful and had many great recommendations about the area. I had a great time out on the water, and look forward to using their services in the future.

Great experience from a guided tour on the waters of Tomales Bay. I tried to book a trip several times while staying nearby, and the administrator was really friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to find a guide for us on a day when a tour was not initially going to run. The guide was really friendly, with some good stories. He also helped to make sure the kayaks were comfortable. I particularly liked being in a 'sit in' kayak with a spray skirt. Highlight was spotting a river otter with a fish (from a distance).

We rented Kayaks for 4 hours on a Friday morning and it was perfect...2 hours would have been not long enough. 4 hours was only $10 more per person. We ended up reserving the kayaks by phone and were able to pay ahead of time. We showed up, and 5-10 minutes later we were in the water. Very easy and fast service. The employees were friendly and helpful. I would recommend wearing crocs or a water sandal, especially if you start off in low tide and your feet will get muddy.

Great question. All rentals are due back by 4:30 pm this time of year; and 3:30 pm in the winter.

Have any kayaks good for halibut fishing?

We have single and double kayaks with fishing rod holders available for take-away rentals every day, and we can sometimes drop-off kayaks at the Miller Boat Launch on weekdays. Drop-off rentals are Monday-Friday only (no weekends) and the reservation total must be $400 or more for drop-off rentals, so best for groups of 5 or more. Our kayaks aren't allowed north of Tom's Point and cannot be launched north of the Miller Boat Launch (can't be launched at Lawson's Landing). The fishing is often good around Hog Island and south of Tom's Point. Please give us a call at 415-669-2600 if you'd like to set-up a reservation or have more questions.
