Best Mexican food I’ve had in KC yet! I got their chicken cheese (queso) and rice and it was so dang good! Their chips and salsa are also really good.

The experience started out great. Chips and drinks were brought to us immediately. No one came to take our order. It wasn't busy when we got there. People who arrived after us seated in the same area were getting food yet no one ever came back to take our order. We were there at least 25 minutes or more with no service. Finally left money on the table for our drinks and left.

First time being here and I'll say it won't be our last! Atmosphere is what you would expect a Mexican type restaurant to be. Service was very good, drinks were never empty and as soon as our chips were almost gone they brought us more. My wife is very picky about white cheese dip. She liked it so much we had to get a large order to take home with us. She had a chicken quesadilla entree and I had the steak jalisco. Both entrees were very hot and fresh and smelled amazing. The Jalisco came out and was still sizzling. The peppers and onions mixed with the ribeye steak and shrimp smelled so good. We were very satisfied with the flavors and how everything was seasoned. We ended up having more than we could eat so we had some to take home to enjoy again. Can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu. Maybe even a couple margaritas.

I've been there twice and it seems like a pretty straight forward little joint, I'm sure they have some.

El Ranchero changed names to Carmen's Cantina to separate from the El Ranchero in Blue Springs. They offer a condensed menu from the original and have a brought a newer manager on within the last year that is helping run the restaurant. Daniel and Elvin are responsible for managing and running under the new name. They are doing a wonderful job of building the restaurant brand!
