Dobbs charged me $60 a tire to mount and balance 4 tires total came out to $256 I called around other stores only charge $25 a tire including other Dobbs Waterloo Dobbs is a scam I will never return I'd think twice before using them for anything

Called Dobbs in Waterloo because my car wouldnt start but the radio and all lights worked strong. The man on the phone said it sounded like a battery. I disagreed, saying it was the starter but he insisted it was a bad battery. When I took it in for a diagnostic, he again told me the starter was fine and replaced the battery as well as terminal cables. (Along with several other routine maintenance things they upsold me on) the car worked fine for about a month until I started having the same issue. Lights and radio fine but wouldn't start. I knocked on the starter and it started right up. I had a bad starter the whole time and the man refused to check it because he didn't want to admit he might be wrong. I will never go there again because of that guy.

I took my car in for a 1day job. They quoted 3.2 hours to change the rack and pinion. That evening I called to check if we could pick up the car. I was informed they had problems and needed an extra day. 3 days went by and I called again and was told I could pick up. They were supposed to evaluate the noise at the power steering pump after the rack and pinion was changed. As soon as I turned the car on I could hear the pump whine. It was never looked in to. I can sympothize with the shortage of techs and needing additional time to replace the rack and pinion, but the communication was terrible. 5 days later I have my car back and the work performed is satisfactory, but the communication from the front desk and management was horrible. I will be looking for another shop.
