This place is more than a restaurant, it is an experience!! The building itself is so interesting with so much to look at. And there is no menu!! They just bring you food!! And it is all delicious. Corn relish, peach preserves, home made sausages, apple ring, etc, and that's just for starters!! Then you get fried chicken, roast beef, noodles, potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, on and on. Did I mention Desserts, I'm just going to let you imagine how wonderful that is with all the fresh fried available in Calhoun. If you have never been here, you need to make it a point to get here soon!!

My family always had a tradition to come here for mother's day. It is something I always look forward to. We would ride the ferry over and make a whole day out of it. Sadly my grandfather passed so we can't do it anymore, but it is a tradition that I wish to continue with my kids and their kids. The food is always wonderful and filling since it's all homemade. It's a never ending feast! I can't wait till I can continue the tradition that my grandfather had started so long ago. I hope this place is around FOREVER!!!

Family style. No menu but some awesome food. Starts with cinnamon rolls, bread sausages and a relish tray. Main course was fried chicken and roast beef. The people I was there with loved the chicken. The Roast Beef is melt in you mouth tender and tastes like it was made by grandmother. Don't skip their delicious assortment of homemade pies. Bring friends or family, you will feel right at home.
