One of my favorite places to eat, Ramos House is very cozy and comfortable. The interior design is very calming. The staff are friendly and the waiters are very courteous. The food and drinks are always delicious and great quality. Highly recommend!

Small garden patio restaurant in historic San Juan Capistrano near Mission. Brunch menu is well thought out with great flavors. Portions are large and menu is a set price per person. Fizzy sangria really a fun cocktail, not too sweet.

What a unique restaurant right next to the Metrolink station in San Juan Capistrano! If I had known, I would've taken the train down from LA to do a day trip in this town and eat here. I loved the fact that there are tables right next to the tracks so you'll see trains come and go throughout the meal and it's something to enjoy watching because you don't really get to appreciate it while driving constantly. My family and I came and dined their set brunch menu on a Saturday. The wait time was about 30-45 minutes so we walked around the area and sat down in the shade. We each ordered different items and each had their own particular taste. I don't remember what my family ordered but I ordered the Mac & cheese dish, which turned out to be a too greasy for me but had great flavor. Honestly, everything looked amazing and tasted great; I'm just an exception because I have sensitive taste buds. Anything that's too salty or sweet isn't for me and given that this is an American style restaurant, everything seemed too salty to me. I'd still come back and enjoy the view and order something different next time.

Small plates or Large it's all fantastic! It's a small spot so be patient and don't harass the hostesses/servers you will be seated when seats are available. It cost nothing to be kind so keep that in mind when you're waiting.

Recommend the parking garage diagonal (SE) across the street from the train depot. It is on the other side of the tracks from Ramos House, but it is a very short walk and the parking garage was not expensive.
They require masks, clean the tables and chairs, have the tables spaced apart and also have hand sanitizer on every table.
It is quite pleasing but prix fix only & I am taken aback by the price: $35 which includes a starter & entree. Or, drink & entree. That equates to $20-$25 for the entree & $10-$15 for an appetizer or drink. The portions are fine for most but hard to justify $20/$25 for an egg dish or bowl of stew. This is our once a yr when we're in the area place.
There can be a small wait on the weekends as it gets busy for brunch. I recommend trying the quail eggs and the Aligash Curiuex
Sunday is set price dinners. I would get resevations.
It is first come, first serve. Reservation only for parties of 10 or more.
You would do well to call and inquire about reservations. There food is excellent. I suggest you spend time and look around the area. There is some very nice places. Check the mission out you might enjoy that. There is a lot of history. Have fun and good luck.
You would need to call. They only serve brunch on the weekend. Great place to have a brunch.
They sell a Ramos House cookbook with all of their recipes.
