Attorney Jake Parton helped my husband and I in a very difficult time. My husband was bound to serve time no matter the circumstance, but Mr. Parton was able to get a great deal with the prosecutor. (A deal that no one thought was possible) I donβt know how he got the deal, he worked magic. We did not choose to go to trial as it was too risky, but Mr. Parton said he was ready for trial if we changed our minds. When my husband was arrested it was pretty late at night and Mr. Parton was the ONLY lawyer that spoke with me that evening. I called many lawyers prior to calling Leppard Law, and most of them texted me stating they would call me in the morning. Mr. Parton spoke with me about the legal matter for quite some time and went to see my husband in the morning. Mr. Parton answered my phone calls late at night when I was worrying and called me whenever I asked to talk. He treated us like family and gave us honest advice. Mr. Parton is definitely the lawyer that I would call if needed. (But I really hope I donβt have to) Everyone that I had contact with in the office was very nice and professional. Kelly, the receptionist, always spoke kindly and searched for answers for the questions I had. Overall, great office and great staff. If you are in need of a good criminal defense attorney, look no further. Leppard Law is ready to fight for you.

Mr. Leppard represented me on 2 separate cases, one case he took over mid stream as I wasn't happy with the representation I had at the time. Joel took my inital call after hours, he was professional and actually made me feel more like I was a friend rather than a client. Mr. Leppard met this case as a challenge and met it head on, this is something you won't find with other attorneys as they are normally more concerned with their win/loss ratio rather than the pursuit of truth or what's fair. In the end my charges where REDUCED! I had no reservations In hiring Mr. Leppard a second time when the need arose and when facing certain Incarceration, Mr. Leppard worked tirelessly through a holiday weekend, low and behold all was resolved with NO JAIL TIME. There is only 1 lawyer I know of that will go to the mattresses for you in your time of need and that's Joel and his team...Thank you for all that you do in all the counties in which you serve!! π

My son's case has been handled with complete professionalism. City charged him with 3 counts and to add insults to his injuries arrested him at ER . My son (23 yrs) has no prior records not even a traffic ticket. Thankfully with Leppard Law and their qualified team the case was dismissed! Beyond thankful to this amazing Law Firm!

Unfortunately, regardless of whether you agree or disagree to a chemical test, your license will be suspended. If you agree to one and it your first offense, it will be restricted for at least 90 days.
If you are offered a choice and are completely confident that you are sober, a blood sample is your best choice since it is deemed most accurate. If you think your BAC is above the legal limit, urinalysis is your best option.
The traditional offense you will be charged with is a DUI, driving under the influence. Subsequently, you will have a second offense of driving with excessive BAC of over (.10%) if you submit to and fail the chemical test. Legally, you can be convicted of both but only punished for one of the offenses.
You do always have the option to represent yourself, but it is highly advised against. DUI charges and their processes are very complex with many issues that only a qualified attorney would know to look for and understand.
Getting a restricted license can end up indirectly raising your insurance rates. However, this is not always the case. Variations in insurance costs are often different on a case-by-case basis.
Fortunately, there are steps you can take right away if you are charged with a DUI. Make sure that you reach out to a lawyer right away to get the help that you want.
The court system uses many harsh penalties to address DUI convictions regardless of whether you had a child in the car or not.
If you are stopped for driving under the influence (DUI) and you have a child in the car, you can face harsh criminal charges under Vehicle Code (VEH) Β§23572 for a DUI with a child under the age of 14 in the vehicle. Technically, VEH Β§23572 is an enhancement to other charges in California. This means that you will only face increased penalties for having a child in your vehicle if you are convicted of a DUI.
Generally, police officers will not leave you off with a warning for a DUI. However, on very rare occasions this may happen.

The truth is, public defenders get a bad reputation mostly because they're so overloaded with work. Because everyone has the right to an attorney, public defenders can't choose which cases they take the way private attorneys can. They must take any and every case they are assigned.
A big difference between a public defender vs private attorney is the fact that if a lawyer does a poor job their business will suffer. A public defender gets more cases than they can handle no matter the outcomes. Only trust your freedom to the best criminal defense attorney in your state.
Formulate sentencing programs tailored to a client's specific needs, often helping defendants avoid future brushes with the criminal justice system. Help defendants cope with the feelings of fear, embarrassment, reduced self-esteem, and anxiety that criminal charges tend to produce in many people.
There are couple of points which you look into when hiring an attorney. An Attorney Should Be Responsive, The Right Attorney Specializes in Criminal Law, Choose Someone Experienced in the Local Courts, Check Reputable Sources, Ask for Referrals, The Right Attorney Knows the Basics Off the Top of Their Head, Look for a Clear Fee Structure.
Criminal law is hard if you can't deal with the pace. Criminal law comes at you quick. Initial appearance, preliminary hearing, arraignments, motions, conferences and trials come up quick. You don't have the time to study a problem for weeks on end like you can in a civil practice.
In truth, the defense lawyer almost never really knows whether the defendant is guilty of a charged crime. Just because the defendant says he did it doesn't make it so. Instead, the lawyer uses the facts to put on the best defense possible and leaves the question of guilt to the judge or jury.
The single most important thing a criminal defense lawyer can do is over-investigate their case. Other than that ability to negotiate, ability to provide a technical legal defense and ability to win
For a homicide to be considered criminal, prosecutors have to prove willful intent or negligence of the part of the accused. If you or someone close to you is facing these charges, the best course of action is to hire a criminal defense attorney immediately.
Typically, you can expect to pay $150 to $700 an hour for a criminal defense lawyer's time. With an hourly fee structure, it is not uncommon for legal bills to get into the $10,000 to $15,000 range quickly. A lawyer who works on an hourly rate may also require the payment of a retainer fee.
In the United States, criminal defense lawyers deal with the issues surrounding an arrest, a criminal investigation, criminal charges, sentencing, appeals, and post-trial issues. Often an attorney will specialize in a niche within criminal defense, such as drug defense or DUI defense.
