Everyone at Greyhound Friends of NJ has been wonderful! We've adopted 4 greyhounds from them over the past 25 years. Linda Lyman and foster mom Tina Coyle were so pleasant, and both spent a lot of time helping us find just the right dog . Everyone we've dealt with has been kind, understanding, and caring. I'm rather puzzled by some of the comments posted here as we've never experienced anything negative. You will not regret adopting from Greyhound Friends of NJ.

Grayhound Friends NOT Friendly at All !!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give 0 star review I would !! Called the president of Grayhound friends, Linda, who just picked up the call with HUM, and was immediately offended when asked Grayhound rescue? .... So make sure you say the name properly..... I mentioned I was interested in adopting. I have 5 1/2 acres of property with electric fence. She stopped me right there... We Do not deal with electric fence and we do not have a lot of dogs. Had she given me a second I could have told her it was an invisible fence, not a horse/cattle shock fence.... So go in knowing you have 2 seconds to talk to Nasty Lady with all the proper words prepared. What a shame !!!!!!

They ask for $25 fee but make no effort to approve or decline your application (or reply to emails). You’d have better luck with different rescues.Currently GFNJ is not charging a $25 fee, so this posting is incorrect from the start. This also appears to be a duplicate posting from someone who does not have the courtesy to identify themselves so we can see if there was a problem with the GFNJ response.

You pay the $25 application fee and nobody ever gets back to you. Edit: this agency has had the same greyhounds listed for adoption for more than a month - not sure why they haven’t been adopted out yet. For interested adopters: I recommend you apply with a different greyhound agency - we did and went home with a beautiful dog within a week of putting in an application.Dear Anon, It is very difficult to frame a good response as we don't know who you are and what transpired between you and GFNJ. We are sorry if there was any confusion with your application process. We currently have many more qualified people wanting to adopt a greyhound than the number of dogs available with Greyhound Friends of NJ. As a FYI, several recent adopters do not already own a greyhound. We will retain your information in the event we find a suitable match for your home, as we do with all applications. In the meantime, if you do decide to let us know who you are, we can accept your application fee as a donation or refund you the full amount. Please advise how you would like us to handle this situation. Thank you for your time.
