Great beer bar in West Reading! If you haven't been to Reading, Penn avenue is the place to go. Four breweries, two beer bars, a whiskey joint, and a bunch of restaurants packed into a three block area. The highlight for us was definitely Barley Mow. 20 beers on tap was great but the hundreds available in cans and bottles in their beer coolers was amazing! Lots of different beers from some of the best breweries. But best of all was the food! So many unique dishes in one place. We had three appetizers- the mushroom Bao Buns were savory and spicy with a nice fresh crunch from the cucumbers and crispy onions. The South Philly spring rolls were like mini Italian hoagies deep fried and served with chutney- crazy good. Finally, the Crispy Thai Pork ribs put us into food climax. The sweet ginger sauce was cooked to crispy perfection, locking in all the juicy flavor of the pork ribs. There was so much more we wanted to explore on the menu but, alas, we were completely stuffed. We'll definitely return again soon! There was plenty of outdoor seating between the front deck, side tables, and rear beer garden. We ordered everything at the bar and the food was delivered to our table. Know before you go- this is a beer bar- no liquor or even wine. They had a few canned cocktails, which is what my had.

Came on a visit for Sunday brunch and found this spot browsing google maps. The food and drinks were OUTSTANDING. Space cozy, friendly staff, we did not partake but it looks like they had a massive craft beer selection. If you go for brunch remember it’s Sunday brunch and it will always be busy and crowded and the staff will be hustling, so be gracious. All the food was incredible and the bloodies are worth the hype. I will be coming back.

My girlfriend and I came here on Halloween eve. They were playing 80s music so that, alone, gives them an A+. The La Jolla grilled cheese was delectable. The beer sampler was fun. We only liked the ecto plasm one. They have boardgames there. We played battleship. It was my girlfriend’s first time playing battleship, ever. This was my 5000th time playing but I haven’t played since 1994. Her tactic i was quite interesting. Next time I play her, I’m going to bet $20,000 on the game and buy a engagement ring for her with the money.
