This is the worst Popeyes ever. As a part of the meal I ordered the large mashed potatoes and gravy. It came with no more than a tablespoon of gravy so I showed it to the manager who happened to be at the window. He argued with me and still made me pay 2.50 for a side of gravy. So paid in excess of $50 for an eight piece meal & drinks. The chicken was literally dripping grease and red beans and rice was so sticky and gross.

I actually really enjoy Popeyes food no complaints. What frustrates me with this location is they never open on time. I was there on a Wednesday, it was early for lunch, I was in the area it was 10:30 am and they were still not opened. The business hours claim they open at 10 am. If they would be more prompt with opening on time they would generate more business.

One of my sons said I should try the nuggets at Popeye's, so I decided to do so. I also got the Megan Thee Stallion sauce and the sweet heat sauce. I'm not really much of a sauce person but I figured why not try them. Unfortunately I was disappointed in both the nuggets and the sauce. The nuggets by themselves are bland; didn't taste any seasoning. Eating them with the sauce was indeed better; however, I don't like spicy sauces so I'm not surprised that I didn't like them. If you like spicy sauces, then you'll probably like both of the sauces I mentioned earlier. Unfortunately I don't share my son's love of these nuggets and sauce. He did later admit that it's really the sauce that made them taste good to him. As for me, I'll stick to Chick-fil-A nuggets, lol.

Believe it or not, we had not yet tried a chicken sandwich from Popeye's. I must admit, it was awesome. The chicken breast was huge and crispy. The brioche bun was buttery and soft, but held the sandwich together. It's topped with mayo and pickles. For those that don't like pickles, you now have the option to leave them off as well as the mayo if you would like. When the sandwich first came out, there was no customization allowed due to the volume of sales. For those that like the Chick-fil-A sandwich due to the infused pickle flavor, this might not be the sandwich for you. Personally, I appreciate both and would be happy with either. The price points are similar, with the Chick-fil-A sandwich ringing in at $3.75 and the Popeye's sandwich at $3.99. The difference in amount of chicken on the Popeye's sandwich more than makes up for the cost difference.

Questions & Answers

Does anyone else always have a terrible experience at this Popeyes. Always messing up and no one will answer their phone once you receive wrong order. Don't waste your time with this restaurant. Too many other options for better service.
