I was pleasantly surprised to see a park, with a fenced sandy beach volleyball court, a basketball court and picnic area right as you exit the Catalina express. There's a golf cart rental to help you get around the island. Such hospitality. We felt welcomed.

Quaint boardwalk with a few places to grab something to eat or drink, and enjoy the views of the marina.

Nice calm area to spend the day or a few days, definitely recommend you find a house to rent instead of hotel, way cheaper and more comfortable. Plus you can cook if you choose to instead of eating out if seafood isn't your number 1 choice since it is what they specialise in.

Beautiful scenery of ocean and hills. Many fun activities to do including ziplining, parasailing, snorkeling, arcade, kayaking and more. However, everything is pricey so bring $$$ if you want to do activities. Otherwise, on the beach enjoy the lovely view.

Most hotels will store your luggage. There is also a luggage service at the ferry terminal called Blue Line. They will pick up luggage from your hotel and store until your ferry time.
Yes, you can fish from the pier. In California, you can fish from any pier without a fishing license.
Hello Theodore. The last time I was there they had showers and lockers on the road going towards the Casino. I don't know for sure if this is the only place to "tent" fishing gear on Catalina. I hope this helps. Have a great time fishing on the beautiful island of Catalina!
There is 2 vons but also I have never seen fuel canisters in either one
No, it's California you can't smoke inside anywhere. Just about everywhere has a small smoking area outside, usually in the back away from everyone.
The ship is always busy. I was there during the week and September the lower deck of the ship was more crowded than the Commodore section which is only like $10 or so more which includes a snack and a drink.
If you stop in at the Catalina conservancy they would be glad to help you. Volunteer any time.
