This campground has the rudest host that I have ever encountered. The host has Arizona license plates and does not honor the various pass discounts. She is quick to steal and pocket the money from the overpriced $8 showers for herself. This campground is full of Texans with a huge RV rigs and huge trucks. It is horrible if you are tent camping. These people from Texas are ridiculous. They are so pathetic that they have to bring their entire house in the form of a huge RV when they leave their states for the summer. These snowbird slobs are too lazy to hike or bike up the mountains so they drive their huge trucks everywhere up the mountains, trash up and pollute Colorado and then snowbird their pathetic selves back home to Texas, AZ or Florida when the snow hits the ground.

This place is a dream. Every campground site is surrounded by Aspen's and a fantastic view. The camp hosts are delightful, and Karl, Mike and his wife Brenda are constantly working on the place either cutting weeds, cleaning bathrooms or cleaning campsites. When we were there for 5 nights the place was super busy with people coming and going. The grounds have vaulted bathrooms and actually flush toilets with hot showers. And yes, everything was super clean.loved it

Beautiful! Great location right on a creek within a short hike to trout lake. Hot showers and clean bathrooms. Views in every direction. Hiking and biking directly from the campground. Would visit again!

Great access to area's attractions Matterhorn Campground is very nice with easily accessible campsites that offer various features like privacy, RV hookups, shade, creek access, etc. However, many of these features are at the exclusion of others. For example, our site (24) was very comfortable and offered RV hookups, but was rather too close to other campsites for my liking. Some of the other sites that didn't have hookups offered better privacy from other campers. The facilities were well maintained and the hosts were among the friendliest and most helpful I've ever met. The real highlight for me, however, is the convenient access to Priest and Trout Lakes. When accessed early, these lakes offer excellent fishing and recreation without the crowds.
