The zoo experience was OK. Nothing to write home about or so spectacular it would deserve five stars. Admission was $10/child and $17/non-resident adult. There were hardly any staff walking around the grounds, which seems unusual for July. Would have been nice to get some questions answered from the kids. There were tigers, bears (black, brown, and polar), seals, otters, eagles, goats, wolves, and more. The grounds are nice and seem natural (like they built the zoo within a natural area).

They offer military discount and AK residents discount 😉. They had tall grass which unfortunately I wasn’t able to see completely some of the animals. But overall it was and okay experience. Plenty to go around and see. Be ready to spend about 1-2hrs here if you go by every cage like I did. Also You can pay extra to hand feed some of the animals, or go up close to them

Had an event here. Greenhouse gets really hot on a sunny day. But lots of room and tables set up so nicely. We were able to go around the zoo as part of the event which made it extra special.

The zoo was magical in the snow! Not all the animals were out, but we got to see the majority of the cold-weather ones. The zoo is on the smaller side but it's a great way to fill the day without needing to rush through. The shop is small but well-stocked and there are snacks available at the ticket stand.

Adults - $15 for visitors, Alaska residents $13, kids aged 3 to 17 - $7
Animals are almost all from Alaska or Arctic areas. Very cool and well worth a visit. Don't miss the wolf pack.
Yes some animals not all.
Far as I know they stopped taking wild Meat and Fish about 25 years ago too many people dropping off garbage meat & fish I would call them make sure before you pack anything over there
Alaska is the 49th State of the United States - as such we accept United States currency. We do not have penguins😊
For 2 adults, and 2 youth, Alaska Residents it was 40$
No, I'm pretty sure the zoo dose not have that. However, there may be a doggie day care near by.
I'd call the Zoo number since weather can change the posted time.
