The restaurant is beautiful! The service was solid. The food was OK. The fritto misto and the Cosmo-Not were the two highlights for me. The presentation of some of the food- like this cherry sorbet (which was so bland) was…a choice. Bottom line: the quality of the food didn’t match the restaurant atmosphere or prices. This definitely is the weak link of Big Burrito.

Last week I ate at Eddie V’s which was untouchable with regards to service, atmosphere and food. But Alta Via was a great dining experience in a different way. Mostly due to EMILY our server. She was not an aged veteran but somewhat new to being a server. Her personality made all the difference! We had a good dinner but a really fun time. Thanks Emily! We will ask for you in the future.

Excellent overall, and you generally get what you pay for. After a dozen visits we have no issues to report. It's somewhat costly for Pittsburgh, but the food holds up to the price. Wine options are very thoughtful too especially by the glass. Wish the bar didn't have a giant distracting and ambiance-killing TV but otherwise the bar area is stellar, even if the liquor selection is a bit lacking in variety. Generally an older and more upscale demographic given the location and price (just look at the cars in the parking lot) but still accommodating for anyone including families. Outstanding, expensive pastas. Very good tuna tartar. Shareable plates and good scene for a date night. Attentive service.

Just wow!!! The atmosphere was welcoming, relaxing, and modern. From the minute we walked in the door we were greeted with smiles and friendly faces. Our server was attentive, helpful, and made great recommendations. The food was absolutely phenomenal! From our appetizers and shared sides to our pastas and desserts we didn't have one thing that I would not eat again! The cocktails and drink selection were also on point. What a wonderful and delicious night out! Can't wait to return!
