I have had several things from gown alterations done to hems and zipper repairs. Everything is done with quality and is priced fairly. Items are done in a timely manner and I have never had any problems. Definitely recommend!

First time using Alterations Express. My daughter needed her prom dress hemmed and taken in a bit in a few places. Her dress was 6 layers of fabric and tulle. They did a wonderful job and I would go there again if I needed to.

Honestly, they didn't do what I had asked about not removing excess material. Even if that wasn't the proper way to do it, it should have been honored. Point was shortening sleeves for growing child that could need them out again in future. Now we cannot let sleeves out in future since material is gone. Will NOT bring future alterations there. Person answering questions on phone beforehand was also rude; should have gone elsewhere.

I took a lined boucle jacket in to have the sleeve hemmed. I was told for $42 dollars they would make the sleeves look exactly like they currently did by moving up the button placket and keeping the three buttons and button holes. It seemed pricey but I do not love to do alterations myself so I agreed. When I picked up the jacket, I noticed there were only three buttons and one button hole. The second button was sewn onto the original button hole. I questioned the clerk and she said that was how they do it. I thought I might have remembered incorrectly. When I got home, I saw the work order where it clearly said cut button holes. I decided to go back and either have it done correctly, get a discount, or a substantial coupon for my next order (to ensure I returned). The clerk was unwilling to do anything for me. She explained that it takes almost an hour to do what was done with my jacket. So, $42/hour. I understand business and overhead, but still, that does not seem to reflect an hour’s worth of hand sewing. Needless to say, I will NOT return to this store or any other store associated with Alterations Express.
