One of HB's best kept secrets. I worked here for a while so I might be biased but this center is awesome. There are many things to do for free or for cheap. If you have kids this is a fantastic and cheap place to take swimming lessons (indoor pool is a +). If you have a middle schooler send them here to play in the game room or shoot hoops before you pick them up. If that same teenager wants to do sports or take a class, look through the catalog for the huge selection of low priced classes and sign them up. In the same catalog you will find, Tae Kwon Do (shout-out to Master Kia, amazing guy), exercise, dance, aquacise, art classes, and adult sport leagues too. This center is connected with a few other city operated centers in Huntington Beach so there might be a better class/location to sign up for. It was crazy to me that locals would walk in and say they've never heard about this place and lived a block away! Come here and check it out to see for yourself, I highly recommend the City Gym & Pool!

This place has so many fun opportunities for young children to learn and grow. Swim lessons, gymnastics, ballet, volleyball and basketball, etc. It is super old but well maintained. It has a lot of charm. Every class we have taken thru HB Sands has been great. Our family wishes the pool was open more to the public but looking over the swim lesson schedule, it seems that there is always a lesson going on.

Nice facility but very crowded and the parking is terrible. Go early so you won't be late for your class because you will be looking for parking. Could be because it's summer and there are lots of swim lessons.

My son is taking volley ball at City Gym & Pool and I have to say the staff is amazing and so patient with the kids. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Plus the facility is beautiful.

There is a pool, as Stipe confirmed, but it is also covered at times (for weeks at a time, as I understand it) so even if there is no other swimming activity on their schedule does not guarantee the pool is open to the public. With funding always an issue, I'd call before packing the minivan with groms and heading down there.
We have low cholrine with a UV filtration, so our pool water is super clean and not bad for your skin. An added bonus: its a therapeutic pool, 90 degrees year round!
We have a therapeutic pool and keep it at 90 degrees year round
There are lockers available for use (not for rent) in the woman's bathroom/shower. Bring your own lock! Go by the City Gym and Pool to pick up The Sands magazine. It will have all the upcoming classes & activities offered and pricing.
There are no locker rentals per say, but there are lockers in the women's bath/locker room that are open * available to use. Bring your own lock & secure your things as you swim! Easy peasy.
It's not a "workout" kind of gym it's more like a gymnasium to come in a play basketball and volleyball.
Contact the City Gym office about this & pricing.
its $2 per person.
There's no membership needed. It's always good to call and see what type of events are planned before going,i.e. swimming, volleyball.
The pool is inside.
They arent too strict on the age here but 55+ is the usual crowd
Yes there's an indoor court here. Call the center for an updated open basketball schedule because they have lots of volleyball and kids sports programs held throughout the week
