Fairly small park but beautiful varied views on hiking trails. You can make a 9 mile loop while hiking to see most of the park or drive/park and do smaller hikes, nature trails.

Palomar was beautiful! Great place to hang out and bring the family for a quick snow day locally. Highest Mt in San Diego County, no traffic and awesome views. You must see it. Bring chains and all wheel drive or 4wd when snowing. Roads might be closed and please be careful.

I came here during the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and had an amazing time. Park entrance fee is an easy $10 and there are plenty of parking lots and campgrounds for day use and overnight use respectively. My friends and I did a 6.2 mile hike connecting some trails around the park that take you along both the westward facing side of the mountain as well as into the center of the park. Your scenery will change from expansive views of SoCal to more secluded forested scenes within throughout your time in the park. The temperature above 5,000 feet was a good 15-20 degrees cooler than the valley below. The park staff was extremely friendly and enthusiastic to share their knowledge of the park with us. Stopping by the fire lookout tower is a must as well. Altogether I feel extremely fulfilled with having visited Palomar Mountain and look forward to coming back in the future.

The park is amazing! It's a great place for hiking! Fabulous landscapes! There is a parking (10$). However, you can leave your car before the entrance for free - there is also a parking. There is place for camping. Restooms are available.

Its still about the same as it was on Sunday Jan 31st. Its been cold and over cast so the snow is not melting. Head on up!
There was little snow that is melting. But the mountains of big bear has some snow. N julian as well. In palm springs take the ariel tram up on the mountain and it is covered with snow.
No, not that I know. I would contact the Rangers.
If you are bringing an rv and by electricity you mean an rv hookup then yes.
If you mean atop a camper I'd say yes.
Fire restrictions in place. They wouldn't even let us burn candles.
No. The roads are clear to the top. By the way, there were was a sign near the top, with some friendly police guiding people through. The sign read "residents only beyond this point". They didnt ask anything, so we let them guide us through... Probably won't be there today because there is alot less people going up
We were there this week and the campground is closed. Only open for day use.
The tower area may be closed but there is a nice picnic area down by the lake and one up by the entrance on the right.
According to their website doge are prohibited on hiking trails. They are allowed to be in campsites on a leash but not the trails. To confirm, you should try calling the ranger station.
Depending on where you're going I do know that the fried Creek campground and palomar campground are closed but the stateside might be open
The previous responses are correct. Have fun!
I'm not sure u should call
It is. But you have to pay $5 to enter the park.
Contact the ranger station about day use
I believe Diane Valley Campground had electric hook-ups....not sure about other ones
There is no Nevada, if you use thermal clothing and hiking boots, gloves, beret
Well, it's about 2.5 hours south on the Freeway, then 20 minutes on a winding, mountain road
