The food and service were great and the restaurant itself is basically brand new (at the time of this review). Everything is clean and well maintained and is a true diamond in the rough. My only downside is it's a bit pricey (as most things nowadays), but otherwise a great experience.

My two sons and I ate at Canaan Valley BBQ this past week and thought it was fantastic! Chef Paul, who owns the place, and his staff were excellent and very attentive to their guests. I had the brisket while my sons split pulled pork and wings. The brisket was moist and packed with flavor. I found it so good, I really didn't need any BBQ sauce as I didn't want to ruin the taste. My two sons split wings and pulled pork, and both raved at just how good it was; My youngest said it was the best pull pork he's ever had. Even more, Paul saw us on the slopes the next day and said hello. It's crazy that of all the people he served the previous evening, he happened to remember us. It shows the quality of a family run business and we'll come back again and again! Thank you, Canaan Valley BBQ!

We came down on a Saturday around 3:00. Two kids two adults. Service was friendly, down to earth staff, restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was also a nice bonus. Now to the food. The pulled pork sandwich I ordered could have been warmer, but aside from that the portion size was large and the pork tasted great. Girlfriend got bbq ribs that fell right off the bone, Mac and cheese was just ok fries were decent and the coleslaw was good. All in all a good place to eat. We really didn't have any complaints.

The one pound pulled pork family size with two potatoes buns were juicy and smoked perfectly. Their signature sauce (made there) was not too sweet and not too spicy. The staff were very friendly and waitress checked on us often. She was a wonderful lady. Beautiful views of the Canaan area while eating indoors or outside in a pet friendly eating area in grass. It was on the "higher side" concerning pricing, but it was a lot of food and well worth it. They do have a small bar type area in their large open dining area. Highly recommended.
