Staff was very helpful! I had a broken powerhead for over a year and I took the chance to see if they could fix it. They gave me an estimate and it was very reasonable! When I got it back it wouldn't turn on so I panicked and rushed back to Starks. They took their time to see if it's was an electrical issue, but it turns out I just didn't know how to use my own vacuum (I didn't know there was an ON button). Slight embarrassment, but I am happy with the results!

My Miele vacuum would not turn on. I was told it needed a new motor which would cost $400. Another shop (S & L) fixed it for $150. It did not need a new motor.

Such a lovely buying experience. The sales man was knowledgeable and helpful. In an age where so much shopping is done online, it was so nice to be able to try out the product in store and to be able to ask questions and not feel pressured or upsold. Would absolutely purchase another vacuum from them.

I rented a steam cleaner from the Montavilla store. Someone contacted me promptly to schedule the pick up. When I went to get it, the sales person was friendly and showed me how to use it. They made it very clear to clean the buckets out prior to returning or I would be charged a cleaning fee. Okay, easy! The machine worked great. When I went to return it a different salesperson was there and told me I hadn't cleaned it properly and he would charge me. He gave me the option to take it back and clean it. He was short and condescending with me. I returned it and told him no one had told me to clean the bottom of it. His response was that the other person was new. I told him it would be nice if all employees were trained to explain the cleaning process. Then he told me that cleaning the roller was a new policy. I don't feel like this is good customer service. I will not shop at the Montavilla store again.
