Lovely little store, friendly, well stocked, comfortable. I found all the vegetable seeds I needed in *September* after searching for weeks for non-GMO, sustainably-sourced and heirloom seeds. The store can be a bit pricy, but well worth it in quality and availability. Be prepared to park on the street, so call ahead and ask if you need to buy something large that you'll need to load into your vehicle to discuss logistics.

A small quaint Ace hardware in the heart of Takoma Parks historical district. Clean place! Not all the staff are crossed trained was looking for root grow powder for cuttings and to speak to the person that knew there was a wait, considering I had to get back to work left the store and just went to Home Depot.

The service at this location is excellent! The staff is fantastic! My issue with "Takoma Ace Hardware" is that they are a corporate commercial business in a mom-and-pop neighborhood. They are intruding on other local mom-and-pop businesses by selling children's toys, stationery, and other things that one wouldn't expect to find at a "hardware" store. This, in turn, takes businesses away from the local stores in the neighborhood that would attract patrons for those items. It is my personal opinion that they stick to hardware and stray away from trying to become a super-center for all your needs under one roof. No one wants or needs a Walmart in a town that collectively offers its citizens much variety in stores, food, and entertainment.
