Arrived at RAP, I was surprised by the number of people in the departure area. Baggage claim was easy waited about 10 minutes for our bags. I would recommend for first time visitors to take the time to go out on the observation deck for the beautiful view. Nice gift shop and restaurant are available along with rental cars.

Gal at boarding for American airline was rude. She couldn’t keep the group numbers in order and kept getting upset with stressed families when they didn’t know when to board because she kept jumbling the group numbers. She made the boarding process exceptionally more stressful for the families with small kids and elderly travelers. Airport itself is fine and the services decent. I rarely write reviews but the way she treated people wasn’t okay she had an attitude and disgusted expressions to match.

Due to flight cancellations, I ended up being re-routed through Rapid City Regional Airport in South Dakota. This was my first ever trip there, and I have never visited a smaller airport than here. It has a total of 6-gates. There is one restaurant and one shop. I needed some food, so I purchased a chicken club wraps that was actually pretty decent. The staff was understaffed and over worked although they did try to deal with everyone respectfully. The food there is extremely expensive like a major city airport where my sandwich and fries with drink was $24. I could not see who was a bartender so I could not get a drink which was why they lost a star. When it came time to boarding the flight it was relatively smooth, and I was in/out of the airport in 2 1/2 hours on schedule. I would suggest that you do not rely on this airport for food and that you bring your food with you. I made that mistake and I needed something to eat. Other than that, I would at that it was a relatively pleasant experience all-in-all.

Accessible and easy to navigate. There's not a lot in the ways of coffee or food. The rental car side is convenient and the new look to the airport suits it well.

nights in white satin, letters I've written never meaning to send. The banks finally came through and I got the keys to a brand new Chevrolet, have you been outside
Delta has a larger presence as well as United. Most Delta flights connect through MSP, United through DEN. The size of the airport is small, but it's awesome. I have NEVER waited in a line at security and baggage is always speedy.
The airport is open
To clarify, the public side of the terminal is open 24/7. The secured side closes after the last flight and opens at 4am.
We recommend 90 minutes to two hours particularly during the high volume summer season.
The airport express shuttle is located in baggage claim area.. They are ready to go.. Most hotels are accounted by them.. An they carry a flat rate to anywhere in the city..
No
Yes, all the onsite car rental companies have key drop off boxes. Cars can be returned at any time.
Here is a link to our website where you can find directions to the airport from any location: https://www.rapairport.com/at-the-airport/ground-transportation
Yes, you can book a shuttle at www.rapidshuttle.com or by calling 605-399-9999.
Please check with American Airlines who flies daily nonstop from Rapid City to Dallas at www.aa.com
at this point, most flights are showing on time. there are some delays reported.
Terminal is open, main runway still closed.
It's possible. Here is the website https://www.rapairport.com but you should check with the airline to be sure.
We will remain in a Blizzard Warning until 6 o'clock tomorrow evening, so I highly doubt that the airport will be open. However, the decision to reopen or remain closed won't be made for sure until sometime in the morning when the airport administration can evaluate the weather conditions at that time.
I work there. As far as now yes they will be. Best advise if your trying to fly out is download your airlines app and subscribe for notifications concerning your flight.
Hi Yvette, you would need to check with your airline regarding their baggage policy. Each carrier has slightly different rules that they follow. It also depends on what type of seat you purchased, basic economy, premium economy, and so on.
AirHost, Inc.: The Airport Restaurant has two locations on the second level of the terminal building – one pre-security and one post-security. Restaurant hours are from 5:00 a.m. until the last flight of the day departs.
I drive shuttle for the airport it is approx 50 min

Go to the airline that she is flying in on with your identification and ask for a gate pass they may or may not give you one
Please tell me in English or Japanese
Airport is good
United, Delta, American Airlines, and Allegant service to this airport.
Depends on the ticket you bought. But if you're taking the small plane one item will go under the plane for the flight and you'll claim it as you enter the airport.
It's open 24 hours a day.
If you come an hour early you'll still have time to be comfortable waiting for your flight.
Generally, yes. It's liquids that TSA is concerned about. I was able to go through security with packaged peanuts and a box of muffins without any problems.
It's about a $31 +/- ride with Lyft
Lyft also goes to the airport. Download the app and it'll give you an idea of the cost.
Check with the airline
You can bring food
As long as you're not leaving the country a valid ID is all you need.
The terminals open 24hrs but u cant check in i think until like 445 500
Delta, usually
You can fly American and connect through Chicago or Dallas. Delta will take you through Salt Lake City or Minneapolis. United will take you through Denver or Chicago. Seasonally there are flights to Charlotte on American and Newark on United. So you would have to connect no matter what.
It's a small regional airport, so there are only 5 or 6 gates. It's very easy to manouver. Check out the website for a terminal map.
Not sure. The airport staff can print it out for you though.
The american air that stops in Dallas goes to Florida, or the United to Denver services Florida or you can take Delta to Minneapolis first, which connects to Florida airports
That's always a possibility. Check with the airline for flight status.
Thank you. That was a quick response. Ill do the internet to purchase ticket. Thank you. Nervous first time flyer. No idea what I'm doing.
Thursday and Sunday. Their website is allegiantair.com
Check with airline.
There are signs on the doors that say masks are required to enter the terminal.
It's rarely used and only by smaller aircraft by request or in very limited circumstances (i.e. heavy crosswinds that don't allow landing on 32/14). At 3,600' long and 75' wide it's significantly smaller than the primary runway. If an aircraft is on FlightRadar, they're likely IFR, and there are also no approaches to 5/23.
