I was honestly dreading a taking my son to an ER, as you expect a long wait time and a chaotic experience. We headed here this early morning as my son really wasn’t doing good and on a holiday weekend we weren’t really sure where else to go. I was really impressed with the level of care we received and how kind everyone was to my 10 year old who generally doesn’t do well in any medical setting, he gets very anxious. Both the dr and nurses were very patient, thorough and explained everything well to both my son and us. We also got a bed on walking in the door and were seen by a dr within 5 mins.

We just had our baby boy at Midcoast Hospital and the Maternity staff were just wonderful. So compassionate and supportive and knowledgeable. My c-section anesthesiologist even came in and checked on me a day after the operation, and even though our little guy had a rough start we knew he was in good hands. Alyssa was a great support and so kind. Thank you, Midcoast Maternity for helping to bring our baby into the world.

Just as I was leaving I had this lady goes “next time you come in don’t bring a 13yr old with you.” I DIDNT KNOW SHE COULDNT COME IN THE ROOM WITH ME. NOT MY FAULT, also the fact the lady was being completely rude and saying “next time before you come in take ibuprofen and Tylenol. It’ll save you a trip. This is the last step. yea” so disrespectful, no need to be rude. Every time I come here I get bad service. NOT TO MENTION. I went in for intense chest pain and severe stomach cramping. I had a ekg, urine and blood tests done. This lady just made me feel awful. She made me not want to go there anymore. Totally disgusted. What are hospitals now ?

Was greeted at the ER immediately and friendly. Checked in quickly. Triage nurse was kind. Nurse put in charge of my care was very kind, compassionate, professional, knowledgeable. Saw 2 Drs. Both were very kind, compassionate, understanding. Was treated very well. Fell taken seriously. Was given appropriate treatment that made me feel so much better and was able to go home.

It's a small hospital, with an extreme shortage of help. I do not agree with alot of the rules..such as not being able to wait for someone to come out of surgery. I believe there may be an administrative problem going on.. something just feels off. I was there for a week. I would not go back
