My mom recommended I go here since it was where she got one of our dogs back in the 90s. She said she had a great experience then. I was looking for a new kitty for my kids and wanted to be able to bring them with me. They allowed me 3 & 4 yr old to come in with me. Most other shelters were not allowing kids at this time. We put in our application before we left by the time we got there we were approved. They were great with the kids and we were able to find the perfect kitty for us. It didn’t take us long to complete the adoption process either. We were there less than a hour. I was very impressed with them and we go back again.

What a joy to work with this Rescue. We put in our application, they responded to us in a very timely manner, answered all my questions. we we able to meet our chosen one and all went Great! We took her home the same day! This precious Cat was taken in as a stray and brought back to greatness by Nikki and all the members at Pope Memorial Cocheco Valley, in an amazing way. She is Perfect and we could not be more pleased with our experience and our new member of the family....MISS HARLOW !!!

Yes. Our address is 221 County Farm Road in Dover. Thank you and Happy Holidays.
It depends when. Normally you can walk in and if there’s a dog that you like you could apply and come home with it then.
They have a whole room full of dogs. I didn't go in, because i was there for a cat. But, i heard a LOT of dogs and saw a few cute ones come out. They were super sweet and happy to have attention. It's worth the trip to go see them - and keep going back again because they get more in all the time. For cats, there is a veteran fee waiver. That may be the case for dogs, too.
Call first and tell them u.would like to surrender your cat and ses what they say
Donations can be dropped off anytime in the large donation box outside the front door as long as they are not perishable like fresh vegetables.
I would check with them. Sometimes knit blankets can be dangerous because animals can get there legs and nails caught in the holes. Maybe try homeless shelter.
No, I'm sorry we do not. You might try the Center for Wildlife in York, ME. Their number is (207) 361-1400
Hi Jill/Jane, I'm very sorry for your loss of your dog. Thank you for thinking of our animals, but we are unable to take open bags of pet food at the shelter. Perhaps a friend or neighbor's dog will be able to use it.
Call the shelter and they can give you referrals
Where are you located?
Not usually. Call Rozzie May animal alliance. They are a great program for it.
Yes they can use anything blankets would be a big help
I'm not sure. I don't know why you would want to though. What breed is it?
They are open everyday except Monday and Wednesday now.
