If you are out and about or make a special trip, it is worth the time to stop. The food is great!!! Dining outside beside the river with a cool breeze on a hot day just adds to the experience. Not a large menu but what is on it plus the daily specials will knock your socks off. The owners make you feel right at home and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Do yourself a favor and stop in. You will not regret it.

A tiny spot where the Chef Owner and Waitresses/Scratch Baker Co-Owner prepare meals for dine in or takeout. It looked like indoor dining for about 25 with about the same amount of seating on the deck overlooking The Kennebec River. Everything is prepared fresh in house by husband and wife, and I assume they're son. The menu is limited and specials are always changing. I ordered the fried haddock plate. It came with two nice golden brown filets that I heard sizzling in oil moments before on top of what I thought was too big an order of hand cut french fries. I don't think it's possible to get too big an order of these fries after tasting them. They were perfectly cooked so that the natural potato enhance with a genius blend of seasoning. Really great fries. The haddock fillets appeared to be dipped in batter and rolled in dry mix before frying. The batter or breading was speckled with seasoning, I'm guessing a few kinds of pepper and salt. Nothing to overpower the fresh haddock flavor. Even the house brewed iced tea was spot on. These folks take good care of hungry people.

Great little restaurant in Anson,Me. John and April provide a nice place to get a wonderful meal.You have the option to dine in , dine outside along the river, or call in for pick up. The staff greet you and make sure to say hi to John and April while there.. don't forget to pick up a piece of peanut butter pie or fresh home made chocolate chip cookie for desert.
