I wish I could do more for this no-kill shelter. My husband and I try to donate litter, cleaning supplies, and/or cat food once each month. It is always appreciated. I wish I could visit the big cat room, but we have an indoor, older, unvaccinated cat at home, and I don't want to take her a virus, which shelter cats can have. When the time comes to get another cat, we will come here.

The staff members on site were very kind and helpful, however the facility was not very clean, smelled of urine and many of the cats were sick. I did adopt a cat from the facility who was/is healthy and sweet natured. Perhaps I was there on a bad day... let's hope so.

The Cat Protection Society provides excellent care of the animals under their charge. They have beautiful cats & kittens ready for adoption. If you are looking for a full grown kitty, they have wonderful choices. If you are wanting a kitten, I know 1st hand, they have been raised with love. I have been one of the volunteer foster moms for a long time. They have the most reasonable adoption price of any I have seen. Be sure to check them out.

Super clean! The staff was very knowledgeable and let me have a tour of the place. So many cats and kittens, literally hundreds of them!! This place is doing an amazing job of providing a home for felines that otherwise would have possibly been euthanized.

Yes
Yes I'm ready for one
Best thing to do is to physically call them, and see if they would be able to take them. They are open from Tuesday to Saturday.
I don't believe they are taking kittens right now. How old are they?
Just saw this question. Yes, they are welcoming adoptions. Be aware they close at 2 pm. Happy hunting for a fur baby!
Call Cat Protection Society for a referral to a low cost vet and a no kill shelter that might be able to accept the cat.
All you have to do is go in there with your cat say that it's a strain that you want to get it fixed and they will give the cat its shots it needs before it gets fixed and then they'll give you a certificate to Lake veterinary in Mount Dora for $20 is all you have to pay at the vet the shots are free
They do up to a certain number and sometimes make exceptions depending on the circumstance. They are always in need of food and vet expense donations
They have to be able to be handled. Also, the shelter is currently at max capacity. You can check with the humane society, if you have not yet done so
Should have kittens of all sizes and colors

I made a donation by check! But you can also donate cash and supplies to them too. Litter, food, toys, and carriers :-)
Call the Cat Protection Society
352-589-6228 if nobody answers leave a message on the answering machine and somebody should call you in the morning or you can try to call sometime after 8am tomorrow
11 am to 230 pm Monday thru Saturday
Right now we are not hiring but always looking for volunteers
It starts at a minimum donation of at least $20
They do take them
The very front of the building is where they usually keep all their kittens and they usually have plenty to choose from! All adorable and mostly healthy. I encourage anyone looking for a kitten to come here!
