Camping. Disc Golf. Kids playground. Pinics. Great hikes especially Stone cuts, South Plateau, Mackay Hollow. The painted cave. Our family stayed 2 nights here in our 🇦🇺Caravan🇦🇺. We hiked the hardest trails here and the kids thoroughly enjoyed them. They slept well! Although we did these trails after heavy rain,, we recommend to not go on the difficult trails after heavy downpours. The trails get very muddy and it increases your hike time considerably due to navigating the mud AND the rocks from the recent landslides. These trails do need some maintenance. We went late March and the Blue Bells were starting to color the place. We would love to come back in April/May to see the green and Nov/Dec to see the Fall leaves.

Beautiful nature! Not too crowded but enough people to not be nervous alone. Great for hiking or mountain biking; not the best for trail runs at least not the one I did. Lots of steep loose rock. It is amazing here though.

Lovely park close to Huntsville AL. Entrance fee: $5 per adult. Lots of hikes. We hiked a little less than 5 hours today and all the hikes where very well signaled. Lots of hikes to choose from and lots of people hiking there - and no trash left - a sign of great civility. We hiked the south plateau loop, went back through Bucca family trail and saw the fire tower, then took the McKay Hollow trail to the Natural Well trail. The natural well is pretty impressive. On the way back, we saw three very unconcerned deers very close by. Pretty amazing park, lots of trails and lots to see. Visited on November 26, 2021. It was very cold!

Loved our visit to this Alabama State Park. We stayed in the campground and there is a separate review for that. The park itself is well maintained. Trails in great shape. Lots of multi use trails the we hiked and mountain bikes. Nice overlooks with great scenery. Lots of bird photographing locations. Many deer.

If you have any doubt I'd call them or look up the law. If you depend on an answer here and it's not correct the stakes are too high.
There are many streams and waterfalls after the rains. Closet river is at Ditto Landing Marina on TN tiver prob 15 minutes away, or Guntersville Lake which is apx 20 or 25 mins away. MonteSano will generally stays 10 degrees or so cooler in the summers, being above sea leval 1600 ft. So cooler summers, colder winters...even snow when surrounding valley doesn't get any.
Yes! They have designated spots for primitive and TV hookup spots!!! Both sides are beautiful! So clean, too!
Yes!
$5 for adults. $2 for children ages 4-11, seniors age 62+, and active military. Children 3 and under are free.
Monte Sano - mountain of health, (Spanish). In the 1800s there was a health retreat on this mountain. Google should get rid of the local guides program. Then you wouldn't have nonsense answers like these other 2 on here.
It just has a steep grade on the road and can make it but slow going up the mountain
Over 20 miles of trails! One can walk as little or as much as one wants.
They have a large outside venue for large gatherings. Im sure you could accomodate a large wedding reception.
