Small independent hobby shop with a heavy focus on model trains. I've been going here since their build actually looked like a caboose in North Napa. While they do dabble in RC, model trains are their bread and butter. I'll usually go here if I want hard goods and solid advice. Seeing as Napa has a dearth of hobby stores, Loose Caboose is a great place to go! My only gripe is their hours are kind of limited, but that's just part of small town life.

Loose Caboose Hobbies is the single best hobby shop in the Bay Area. When it comes to supplies they have just about everything you’ll ever need. They have a really great selection of Vallejo and Tamiya paints as well as washes, varnishes, thinners, oil paints etc. They have tons of kits; most of them are older though they also sell new kits here. I was surprised to see one of the brand new Takom battleship turrets on top the shelf last time I visited. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. Last time I shopped here the guy at the counter was telling me some cool facts about the kits I bought as I was checking out. I’ve never had a bad experience at Loose Caboose. If you need anything model related shop here, it’s way better than buying online.

I love this store! They have an insane variety. Models, trains, Lego, D&D, Magic the Gathering, and so on. In particular I was very impressed with the board game selection and it's pricing, it's the same as major retailers but you have the bonuses of supporting a small business, not paying shipping, AND the gentleman working was supremely knowledgeable on what games would be a good fit for you, it was great to have personalized suggestions. Employee was very friendly and helpful. Definitely stop by if you can, there's something for everyone.

Masks required, plastic partition at the register.
You will have to go into the store to see if they still have some available. The last time I was in, they were running low on their instrument stock.
Yes, we carry Estes model rockets, starter sets and rocket engines. Sorry for the very late reply.
Yes they have a large variety (an entire long wall) of models such as airplanes, trucks, etc. When you walk in its on the left side aisle across from the Legos.
We do have used HO trains. Most of them are in the HO "Junkyard" which is a few boxes of used train cars, buildings and parts. Sometimes we do get used, and running, engines but they sell out quickly.
I'm sorry for the delay in answering, but we don't do R/C repairs. You might want to try Jake's Performance Hobbies in Rhonert Park. Phone: 707 586-3375
