Ruskin Rest Area I-75 Southbound

Very clean and nice restrooms. You felt very safe there as well, staying overnight. Lights everywhere during the night for safety. The only thing you needed was a small shop with hot coffee and a sandwich but other than that, very good place for an RV to stay overnight!

Got Clean? Never thought I’d review a bathroom😂, but this one stands out. If you, too, want a pleasant visit at your handy dandy rest area, the Ruskin Rest area should be your 1-75 stop. Fairly new and amongst the cleanest and most well-kept rest areas I’ve had the pleasure of visiting The Ruskin RA, located between Ruskin and Riverside/Wamauma, provides 25 of the cleanest potties, stalls, floors and sinks I’ve found on an interstate (see my photos). Even the hand soap smelled nice (not like the industrial smelling stuff) and the air dryers work well. Bottom line? Thumbs up. Well done FDOT.

It was nice and clean. I was there after midnight, there were a lot of cars there with most people sleeping. I stopped because I thought I seen a sign that said night time security. I seen some workers leaving but I didn't see any security guards or security cars. I would have felt a lot safer.

Kind of unusual to have the opportunity to review a rest area, but I wanted to do this one because I was particularly impressed with it. The overall wheelchair accessibility was to be praised. All the picnic areas, and public areas were accessible, and there were enough handicap parking spaces to accommodate. It looks like this area was recently renovated, and upgraded. We had a picnic at one of the covered picnic areas, and things were clean and well kept.
